I created a sidebar using the Kadence Elements hook and the sidebar shows up on the blog menu only ( On this sidebar, I have an image of a product I sell (The Ultimate Survival Guide for Widows) with a link to the product page. When I click the linked image from the sidebar on my desktop/laptop it works fine. The problem is the link doesn’t work on my mobile device. If I’m looking at the blog menu from my phone, the sidebar appears and I see my product image, but I can’t click it. All the other links on my sidebar (affiliate products, etc) work fine. But not the product image link.

    Any ideas?

    Hi

Just logged in to try to check something in the documentation for Ascend Premium at and all the menu and sidebar links report 404 Not Found.

Has the documentation moved after the recent take-over?

    Best wishes

    Julian

    Hello Yogi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

    “Featured Projects” section.

    1. How to add this section to the homepage?
You’ll need to add the Portfolio Carousel item to the Enabled row in Theme Options > Home Layout. For more information regarding the home layout of the Virtue Theme, you can refer to this article – http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/theme-options/home-layout/.

    2. How to add images to this section?
The images that will be shown in this section are the featured images of your Portfolio posts. Here’s a screen recording for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/7Kuone90.

    3. What is the ideal image size i.e. of the square image on the demo homepage under “Featured Projects” (width x height)
On our demo contents, we used the thumbnail size of 270 x 270px for the featured images. You may use a bigger size, preferably with a square resolution.

    4. If added, can we change the title from “Featured Projects” to “Featured Blogs”
Yes, you can change that on Theme Options > Home Layout > Home Portfolio Carousel title option – https://share.getcloudapp.com/04u2Rb49.

    5. Can the images link to specific blog pages on our website?
No, it will be linked to the Portfolio post. If you want to add a carousel of images with an option to set the links, you may use the Custom Carousel instead.

We presently have over 100 Blog posts. We would like to know how we can divide these Blogs into separate categories so that the user can read the Blog as per the desired category.

You may want to use a sidebar with the Categories widget so the users can go to different categories easily. For the Blog page, you can refer to the following articles regarding the templates you can use:

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Karla

    Hi,

I normally make full width websites so haven’t come across this before… I have had to redo an old clients site just as they had it which is a boxed type design. However I am getting this design error:

How can I make the content and the sidebar be the same height. Is there a setting in the customizer for this? I haven’t been able to find anything.

    Thanks, Mel

    Hey,
You can add widgets to your sidebar from Appearance > Widgets.
    Hope it helps!

    Hi Daniel,
Sorry this is not more clear!
You are wanting a static page on your homepage as well as the latest posts, is that correct? If so, you can add latest posts to your static page using the Post Grid/Carousel block. Then in the Page Settings of your edit page you can choose a sidebar layout. Then set this page as your front page from Customize > Homepage Settings. Does this make sense?

    Hey team.
I wanted to see if you could help me figure a few things out.

Here is the page in question:
    t/store/

(still working on getting all the gifs working)..

but the question is in regard to the menu on the sidebar.
    (1) first, I’d like my sidebar to be to the left for all shop / product pages. Could you help me with that?

Next, (2) is it possible to make the categories dropdowns to show the subcategories?
And, (3) can I make the categories in a bold font and subcategories in the weight they are in?

and last.. I really don’t like the way the subcategories show when selecting a category… you can see what I mean here:
    t/product-category/combat/

every category shows thumbnails for the subcategories… (4) is there a way we can get rid of those and only show the items all included within the category?

I hope this all makes sense. Thank you all so much in advance for your help..

HI, looked again at homepages srttings and saw this:” To set a static homepage, you first need to create two Pages. One will become the homepage, and the other will be where your posts are displayed. ”

Not sure what this means… can this help me to achieve “last posts with sidebar” for Homepage?
    Thx
    Dan

How can I add a widget on the home page on the left sidebar? So as to include a product category in it?

    #266157

    HI Karla, thank you!

Regarding the Homepage… if I want to show my latest blog posts but also have a sidebar, can I do that with a static page?
    Thx

    Hi Engineer,
    Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
You can use the Product Categories widget. It allows you to enable hierarchy within the widget settings. You would just need to enable a widget area on your shop page such as a sidebar. Would this work for you?

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi Dan,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I use some category pages (is that an Archive page? when I show all posts for Category A on one page?) on my blog… how can I change the number of columns these are shown in (right now its always 3 rows, eben with sidebar)
Yes, category pages are archive pages as well. To change the number of columns, got to Customizer > Blog Posts > Archive Layout and change the value of the Post Archive Columns option – https://share.getcloudapp.com/RBuY8jQG.

Also my homepage goes too “all blog posts”, showing 3 columns… can I change that, too?
If you go to Settings > Reading and set your homepage to show your latest posts, then your homepage will automatically show a bog archive page. If you want to change this, select a static page for your home page.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Karla

It seems I cannot change that in the Customizer, correct?

Must say Kadence Theme (I hadn’t even realized you made a new theme since a few weeks ago) is great and especially super fast…with WP Rocket I get a 98-100 on mobile, even with Cookie consent code, Matomo and esp. Adsense to be sent)

    Thank you

    Hi!

I have been researching and if it is possible to hide the sidebar in the main Woocommerce categories. But I don’t know how to do it using Snippet. Can Ben help us?

It would be of great help, since in the roadmap the “Invidual Archive Layout” has been planned for months but has not been done. This would be of great help to me, I would not have to wait any longer.

    Thanks.

    #265807

    Hey,
There isn’t a built-in way to set this up, but you can create custom category and subcategory pages using the post grid carousel block or a woocommerce block. Or you can use css to hide the sidebar from your category pages but show it on subcategory pages. Let me know how I can best help going forward!

    Best,
    Hannah

    Hi!!
I need different layouts between category and subcategory of products, I need the following:

    – Product Category -> “Normal Layout”
    – Subcategory Product -> “Left Sidebar Layout”

Is this possible? That would help me a lot,

    Thanks,
    Greetings.

    #265759

    Hey,
Thanks for reaching out! Apologies for the delay. Kadence Theme has some structural schema (filterable) for things like the header, footer, and sidebar. If you want schema that will affect your rich snippets for SEO results that is all done in an SEO plugin like Yoast.
    Hope that’s helpful!

    Hi,

Need to switch from the Classic editor to Gutenberg editor.

What are the things to be kept in mind before making the switch? Does the switch affect the website pages, posts or plugins?

I have a running website: and do not possess coding knowledge. Hence, need your help to make this switch.

Few details about the present website setup:
    • The homepage has been created using SiteOrigin Page Builder. The other pages and posts have been created using the in-built templates available in Virtue premium.
    • 17 plugins are active presently on the website.
    • Several Additional CSS added as and when needed (as per the code provided by the Virtue support team)
    • Widgets have been used for page sidebar, home widget area and footer

Let me know if you need any further information. I have downloaded a backup of the website.

    Thanks
    Yogi

    Hi Tom,

    To remove the sidebar:
    .page-id-0 aside#secondary {
    display: none;
    }

To remove the space that’s supposed to be for the sidebar and set the main content to full width.
    .page-id-0.has-sidebar:not(.has-left-sidebar) .content-container {
    grid-template-columns: 1fr;
    }

Let me know how it goes.

    Regards,
    Chito

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

There’s no built-in option to achieve that at the moment. However, we can use custom CSS.

Would that work for you? If so, Can you post the link to your site and the width you want to set on your sidebar?

    Regards,
    Chito
