In reply to: Filter by Product Category?
Hi, Ian!
Glad to know that Archita was able to help you with the original issue.
Reduce the padding around the filter heading
The styles are coming from the Woo Filters. I recommend reaching out to them to see whether they have built-in options to adjust those.On the other hand, if you need custom CSS codes, you can add this to Customizer > Additional CSS:
.primary-sidebar .wpfFilterWrapper { margin: 0; }I want the filter link to appear above the products display
I checked the structure and the active filters are also produced/being shown by the filter plugin. See this screenshot – https://share.getcloudapp.com/o0uJPJ9k.Most filter plugins will also show the “active filters” above the filter items. I am not sure if the plugin you’re using now will have a way to reposition that.
I found this Pro add-on knowledgebase – https://woobewoo.com/documentation/content-options/. Based on this post, they only have two options for the position – https://share.getcloudapp.com/KouEJEkr.
Same with the other style adjustment, I recommend reaching out to them to confirm if there is another way to move the “selected/current filters”.
Let us know if we can help you further.

KarlaIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHello, i have this website, please see this link: *Login to see link
As you can see, i have use the sidebar like a “filter” for products.
The problem is that in mobile view, the sidebar appear AFTER THE CONTENT, but it would be ideal if the sidebar appear BEFORE THE CONTENT so the visitors can filter product.
Do you have a solution?
Please let me know.
Thanks and best regards
In forum: Membership ForumsHi there!
Could you give us an overview of your post layout? If you have a post URL available, it would be great if you can send it to us here so we can check the current template/layout. You may mark your reply as private so only you and the support team can see the URL.
On the other hand, if your post template or layout still shows the post content in a specific area, then I believe there shouldn’t be any issue if you import the posts as-is. Especially, if all post contents were also composed by the classic WordPress editor or Gutenberg.
Once you imported post contents that were built with the Classic editor, their formatting should stay. If you want to convert them to blocks though, you should edit them one by one.
Any text or block of the post will be shown in the content area of the post layout. If you have enabled a sidebar layout for the single posts, the sidebar will still show for all posts.
If you want to test this first, you can import a few posts and see how your post template/layout will be applied to their content. If all worked well, proceed with importing all the other posts.
I hope this helps, and let us know if we can assist you further.

KarlaHey, we’re in the process of recreating a new acquired company’s website in Kadence (Pro/3.0.41 etc. all latest).
Everything is done, ready to go and all, besides the Blog posts. I just opened their Blog section, and there’s 1,187 different posts. Kill me.
Normally, I have to redo the template of the Blog/Posts section to make it better, and only Kadence-based (no WordPress-native blocks, or old Elementor stuff etc.)
The issue is that I’ve been doing it all manually, copy/pasting the content from the old site to the new ones, as it never bothered me with only a few dozen pages to do. I could hammer it all out in a weekend at most, but this would be downright foolish to try with 1,187 posts.
I know I can import Posts via plugins and such, but I want to specifically import it all into the new website Post page format/template I made. Is there a way for me to import all these posts, in a way which will:
– Retain all the old content & content formatting (Bolding, italics, bullet lists, alignment etc.)
– Put it all into the Kadence Block -equivalents
– Respect my settings for the posts page I made in the customizer (so all the Sidebar widgets, Post page layouts etc.)I know this is probably unlikely, but I have to do something to get them all transferred over. Should I just import them as-is and just transition to the new Post design & Kadence blocks going forward?
What’s my best course of action here, given the limitations of the available solutions?
Thanks!

Hey there!
Kindly open a new topic for your inquiry. Also, kindly make sure that you’re adding it to the correct forum. Your website is using the Kadence theme but this topic is posted under the Virtue theme.
On the theme doesn’t have filter widgets, the WooCommerce plugin is the one that adds those. First, you’ll need to make sure that you are using a sidebar layout for your WooCommerce pages like the shop, category, and tag archives:
- Go to Customizer > WooCommerce > Product Catalog
- Select either Left Sidebar or Right Sidebar for the layout
- Add the widgets to the sidebar selected.
Here’s a video for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuW2Pek.
Since your desired filter is not available, you may want to use a third-party WooCommerce filter plugin to improve your customer’s filter results.
I hope this helps, and let us know if we can help you further.

June 7, 2023 at 8:58 pm #284106Hi Sara,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
From what I understand, you have a more complex categories on the e-commerce website that you are developing, and you need to have a more complex filtering and perhaps a way to display a more complex categories.
Kadence Theme has the option to enable a sidebar in the Single Products Page and the Products Catalog/Archive page. See Video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/WnumRPe6
There is also an option to enable an off canvas sidebar for the Products Catalog page. This is usually where you can put the Woo Commerce filter blocks. See Video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7Kuz49JB
You can customize the contents of these widget/sidebar areas in the Appearance > Widgets area. See Video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/xQuRP8lX
These accompanying widgets/blocks are from WooCommerce as this is correlated with the features and properties of products created using WooCommerce.
What Kadence provides are features for designing the Theme and Contents of your website. The functionality such as E-commerce can be added by using third-party plugins such as WooCommerce. Thus, the properties you would most likely need to achieve the categories will be primarily from WooCommerce.
In terms of displaying a more complex menu. You can use the Mega Menu feature. Here’s a Kadence documentation on how to create a mega menu: https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-theme/how-to-create-a-mega-multicolumn-menu
I hope this helps. If I misunderstood what you’re trying to do, please let us know, and we’ll be more than happy to help.
Best regards,

Hi again,
I realized it would help to show another site doing what we’re trying to set up: Saatchi Art
Both their genre pages show filterable criteria in the sidebar and their primary navigation, when hovered, is what we’d like to emulate.
Thanks again!

Hi, Milla!
I’m sorry for the long delay in getting back to you.
I tested this on my website but the number of posts is following the widget setting. Watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/DOuKWeP1.
When I checked the post that you gave, the content is not using the actual sidebar of the theme. I believe you have set up the post content to show two columns. I followed this layout on my website and still, the Ascend: Recent Posts widget is showing the correct number of posts – https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOuLgE7o.
If you haven’t yet, please could you do the initial troubleshooting steps here to determine the cause of the issue or fix it – https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website/.
Please let us know how we can help you further with this.

Hi there!
I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I saw that the columns collapse on screen widths of 1024px. If you want the sidebar content to show at the top already, adjust the custom CSS code above to:
@media (max-width: 1024px) { .has-sidebar .content-container.site-container { display: flex; flex-direction: column-reverse; } }This is how it should work on your page – https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDuEW0bE.
Add the CSS code in Customizer > Additional CSS – https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-theme/how-do-i-add-custom-css/.
I hope this helps, and let us know if we can help you further.

Hi, Mark!
The title area for the categories is a separate section from the content area with the sidebar. Those will not be affected by the max width that you’re using.
If you do not want them full-width, you can go to Customizer > Pages/Posts Layout > Archive Layout and select either STANDARD or CONTAINED for the Container Width option. Watch this screen recording for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/Apuv7G9g.
For the element, are you using a Row Layout block there? It would be great if you can set up a staging or test website so we can see your actual page. This will help us better know your setup and help you fix the layout you want.
Please let us know if we can help you further.

Hi Mark,
Please delete the previously sent custom CSS and add code this to the Appearance > Customizer > Additional CSS:
@media screen and (max-width: 1024px) { .has-sidebar .primary-sidebar { display: none; } .has-sidebar .content-container { max-width: 700px; /* Adjusted width */ padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; } }This set the tablet container width to 700px.
I hope this helps. Please let us know how we can help further.
Cheers,

Hi Mark,
Please delete the CSS code you sent and try this:
@media screen and (max-width: 1024px){ .has-sidebar .primary-sidebar { display: none; } .has-sidebar .content-container { max-width: 100%; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; } }In the above code, the max-width property of the .content-container class has been changed to 100% to make it occupy the full width available. Additionally, padding-left and padding-right have been added to provide some spacing between the content and the edges of the screen. You can adjust the padding values as needed.
Here is your Tablet view of your website when this CSS code is added to your website:

Hello,
I recently hid my sidebar on tablet and mobile views. However, now, other elements such as Category and Tag titles as well as the footer are not aligned as I assume they are matching the width had there been a sidebar. So far, I’ve manually forced them to match but it is becoming a problem.
This is the CSS:
@media screen and (max-width: 1024px){
.has-sidebar .primary-sidebar {display:none}
}
@media (min-width:768px) and (max-width: 1024px){
.has-sidebar .content-container {
max-width: 700px
}
}My hope is to be able to have the content’s inner width match the actual width on the tablet view.
Cheers,
Mark

April 25, 2023 at 7:16 am #283509Hi Mark,
Thank you for writing!
Using only the below code is enough to hide the sidebar on mobile and tablet.
@media screen and (max-width: 1024px){ .has-sidebar .primary-sidebar {display:none} }Next, I would like to set the maximum width for tablet view.
You can use this sample custom CSS and adjust the max width:
@media (min-width:768px) and (max-width: 1024px){ .has-sidebar .content-container { max-width: 600px } }I hope this helps, and let us know how we can assist further.

In forum: Kadence ThemeHello,
I’m trying to hide/disable the sidebar on tablet and mobile view. I’ve implemented the below CSS:
@media screen and (max-width: 768px){
.has-sidebar .primary-sidebar {display:none}
}
@media screen and (max-width: 1024px){
.has-sidebar .primary-sidebar {display:none}
}Is this correct or should I use something else?
Next, I would like to set the maximum width for tablet view. Now that there is a sidebar, when hidden, the tablet width is too wide.
Cheers and thank you in advance!
Mark
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: General Page Layout
Hi, Brian!
I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
The spacing between the header & footer and the content area is the top and bottom content spacing. You will see the global value for it in Customizer > General > Layout > Content Top & Bottom Spacing.
On the other hand, there are options to only disable that for posts or pages only. Watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/yAuJ1nJd.
Also, if you want to disable it for a specific post only, you can go to the Page/Post Settings – https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/customize-settings/how-to-setup-page-post-settings/.
Regarding the space between the content and sidebar – this is a default from our theme’s styles. There is no option to adjust it. You can add custom CSS in Customizer > Additional CSS to adjust it:
@media screen and (min-width: 1025px) { .has-sidebar .content-container {grid-gap: 20px;} }I hope this helps, and let us know if we can assist you further.

April 7, 2023 at 11:09 am #283224I am recreating a site that was built in Beaver Builder so I am having trouble finding a handful of settings.
When I search I find options for CSS to reduce the spacing between the header and content, and also between the content and sidebar . . . but I am guessing this is somewhere in settings?
