My two cents –

Try changing the Permalinks to “Post name”, flush cache, and check again. ONLY IF that fixes your issue, you will need to place a redirect in your websites root .htaccess file. The code below should work for that.

#Redirect to keep old links working from permalink issue.

Hi Erwan,
Your site using Virtue Premium is in maintenance mode so I cannot see the differences. Ensure that you have assigned the correct menus in Appearance > Menus and the correct widgets in Appearance > Widgets. If things are still not lining up would you be able to take your site off maintenance mode so we can take a look? If so, please start a new thread and provide links this thread has already been marked as resolved.

Hi Ben,

First I build my site virtue-free, later on upgraded to premium.
FontAwesome plugin I installed, works fine, except for the topbar.
I’m using them options > topbar settings > topbar icon menu.

I like to use next FontAwesome icons in topbar:
icon-envelope
icon-phone
icon-home

For icon-home I tried:
.icon-home {
font-family: FontAwesome;
text-decoration: inherit;
-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
text-transform: none;
}
But got a square. Can you help me further? Thanks in advance.

– a line containing two widgets appeared on top of the posts until recently, they don’t show up anymore (this could be caused by my update of pagebuilder by SiteOrigin from 2.0.7 to 2.4.9) ;
– I chose a sidebar named “Blog – Accueil” from the back end of this blog page, but instead the default sidebar appears on the front.

If you can access it, check the apache error log for your website in your hosting account. This should have the answer to your question.

Can anyone advise on the following error? When uploading an image (a .jpg or .png) through the Media Library, the page returns the message “HTTP error”. The image is in fact uploaded and fine on the system. Also, when I go back to the media library, you can click ‘edit’ on the image, however, the thumbnail is not displayed. Within the Edit Media page, the image is there. So it seems to be having a problem making a thumbnail of the image? I am not sure, but the image cannot be used on the site (e.g. as a featured image on a post).

This started months ago and may be related to an update. I tried the other recommended post about ensuring WordPress and PHP have sufficient memory (it does in my case php: 300M).

I’m trying to set different background images on different pages on the site I’m building (edwardfrenchdevelopments.co.uk). I set the main image under the body section of the Advanced Styling tab in the theme options and then having looked through other forum posts found the code for page-id background:

.page-id-8 .contentclass {
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: center center;
background-size: cover;
background-image: *Login to see link
}

I need to change it in the body not content and have tried switching ‘.contentclass’ to ‘.body’ and ‘.bodyclass’ but can’t seem to get it to work. any ideas?

but, recently i encountered very weird kind of problem.the problem is that : Users are not able to write review on products on single products pages. also when someone is submitting response after writing review it is redirecting to this error :

Hi, I have tried searching the forums here and tried a couple paste in css codes of others for white space issue, which have not worked. I have been using the virtue pagebuilder to create my home page but it leaves a huge white blank space between my secondary menu and the top image and/or categories that I have created using the pagebuilder. Also strangely, there is a tiny box (can barely see it) in top left corner below my secondary menu but above my pagebuilder image where if you hover over it, it will actually link to shop link….? No idea how that got there, but it was not there before I used pagebuilder to do homepage. I asked my host guy who said it had to do with the pagebuilder live editor and to go into wordpress original editor to delete the junk in there but it won’t let me do that without deleting all of pagebuilder and i cannot see anything that shows me what it is. I am not good with css either.

Also lots of white space on right side of logo, I selected to due widget but having trouble using that or making it look nice. Was wanting to try an image to the right of my logo, which always shrinks depending on what I choose in logo placement(?) a sale image with link but can’t figure out how to do this lined up properly. Lastly, footer I cannot figure out how to get the footer to look nice. i am able to use the mailchimp widget to add in but I’d like to add in some menu items without it jumbling up and messing up the look.

So bullet points:
1. Get rid of strange box on left side that links to shop (from pagebuilder,live editor?)
2. Get rid of white space between secondary menu and pagebuilder image
3. Have proper alignment in widget or advice on how to add simple image with call to action or link next in the white space to the right of my logo

Different browser are going to control this differently but I don’t have you issue on chrome.

You will need to test the effects of removing your video for firefox. iframes aren’t cached the same way other things are like images.

You can update without it affecting your site. Your options are saved in the database as long as you don’t edit template files of code.

We use contact form 7 on this site and recommend that plugin if you want to set up a custom contact form.

For uploading you would need a plugin like contact form 7 .

recommended size is more site specific but in general those sizes are fine. As more and more people are using retina screens for desktop I think sizes as large as 2400px are fine. The theme/wordpress is going to resize for the needed size and screen. Just be sure to compress the original using a system like jpgcompress.com

Once you uncheck “hard crop” make sure to regenerate thumbnails: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
