May 17, 2016 at 1:47 pm #95405I fear I may not have exaplined well. This would have nothing to do with the plugins you have installed. Only to do with your server. The “new site” you linked to has the same permissions issues as your other site?

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I would like to learn how to create the tab-like menus that are just on top of the home page slider of Virtue’s site style three. I would like to place and link 6 categories across so customers can just see the metal choice they want and click to go to the products page instead of only using a drop-down menu. I tried to create it inside of menus, but there’s something I’m not doing correctly… I hope it’s possible.Thank you,

I’m working on a Chinese website and encountered a problem of setting the excerpt words of my post to show up on the home page. It showed the whole paragraph characters instead but it should show part of the paragraph characters. My website is *Login to see link Please teach me how to tackle that serious problem.

May 17, 2016 at 11:26 am #95386To be clear I can’t see what your seeing so comparing with your other site means nothing because I can’t get your site to not load correctly. Everything is showing fine when I test on all browsers.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I use the following css to hide the page header and get the site width narrowed to 1000px. This works on desktop view, but my issue is that when on mobile view, the page header will reappear, essentially wiping out the display:none page-header css. Is there a way to fix this? It has stumped me for quite some time. Thanks.For example see *Login to see link
@media (min-width: 1200px) {
.container {
width: 1000px;
}
.page-header {
display: none;

Hey Carla,
The blog and portfolio page templates are set up to push page content to the top and place posts underneath. If you want you can add your posts via shortcode rather than the templates. See here- http://docs.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle/#shortcodes
Or you can use the sitewide footer call to action (Appearance > Footer). That will add content to the bottom of all your pages.Hannah

May 17, 2016 at 10:23 am #95360I have to add id the “password” to allow the FTP.
I know what you need to do. I’m just telling your that you would only need to do that if wordpress isn’t running with “normal” permissions.
I’m not saying the api needs ftp to work I’m saying that you clearly have permissions issues and where there is one issue there would be others.
I only suggest that you fix the issues that we can see which may in turn solve the issue that we are not seeing.
Either way wp_remote_get() is a standard wordpress function, but so it installing plugins without requiring ftp information.
So you may be able to ignore the permissions for ftp but for some reason the site doesn’t seem to run a remote_get at least it’s not seeming to hit the kadence servers. Could be that you have a firewall blocking it but there could be a number of things. So it’s hard to guess.
What is the consequence of not activating the API key?
Eventually you will not receive updates automatically (where you can update within wordpress) for the theme and you won’t be able to update plugins that are bundled with the theme.

May 17, 2016 at 10:23 am #95359Just something I’m noticing on your site. You’re using: 2.9.8
You should really update to the latest version 3.6.5.

In forum: Virtue ThemeI had someone helping me with a virtue premium site and they have changed the code so much that if you check the theme in whatwpthemeisthat.com it no longer says it’s Virture Premium, just a custom wp site. It looks like they added wp 2016 theme too, so I don’t know if they have created a child theme or just changed the main theme too much.
My question is what will happen to the site when the virture theme needs updating? This theme updates automatically, right? Or do you just get an update notice?
Thanks

May 17, 2016 at 9:47 am #95346I’m confused? I’m fully on board with your site taking to long to load. That’s something you need to fix.
You need to optimize. Here check this post: https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/
Is there a certain browser where your seeing the home page not load? I’m seeing all the pages load just takes a really long time. Mostly it’s loading till your site times out.
By the way have you tried deactivating wordfence. It’s one of the slower security plguins and your server may not work with it.

May 17, 2016 at 9:36 am #953411. I’m seeing a line on your home page because you have selected that the home page have a transparent header and this the “page title” area is behind it. If you don’t want this simply go to theme options > home slider and make sure “Place behind Header” is turned off.
2. If you would like to change the height of your header you can do that in your theme options > site header. There is a slider for the “Header Height”

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there,
Last Friday i’ve had an error on the homepage of my site and i could not log-in on WordPress. The error said: Warning: attempt to assign property of non-object in /costumers/1/9/8/a3architecten.com/httpd.www/wp-content/themes/virtue_premium/lib/nav.php on line 39. And this like 30x on the homepage.
I’ve had contact with the hosting provider and they don’t know what the problem could be. (at the moment of writing this message).
The error eventually disappeared the day after and i could log-in again, but i’m really curious to know why this error happened.Does anybody know what this could have been?
Please let me know.
Cheers, Mike
