Topic: hide topbar on homepage only
Hi, I’m using Virtue Premium.
Since my RevSlider is already used for one site, and I have bought LayerSlider, so I’m using it for a project.
For that, I encountered two issues:1) how can I hide topbar on home page only.
I used Hannah’s work-around to upload an image as topbar background, it works great as a site-wide ID.
but how can I hide it on homepage?
The following code works for common pages but doesn’t work for homepage:
.page-id-X .topclass {
display: none !important;
}2) On homepage, is it possible to move secondary nav from top of the slider to under the slider?
File location: *Login to see link
Thanks a lot!

I appreciate both of your responses. I’m sorry for the delay. I forgot to check the box at bottom to send responses to me.
I want to create a slideshow on Apple’s iPhoto with all the music, bells and whistles. Then I would like to add that slideshow to a post on my blog-site, http://williamkemsley.com.
Forgive my innocence. While I’ve come a long way, I’m still a babe in the woods about ways to make my blog-site more sophisticated.
I’m on a Apple Macbook Pro and have had a lot of success in building my site on the Pinnacle Premium theme. I love the support you folks have given me. Everyone who visits my site and knows me goes out of their way to compliment me on the site.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Video Embed Code for My Own Video File
March 31, 2016 at 5:06 pm #88616Hey Jerry,
Here is some info on why you shouldn’t self host a video: https://www.wp101.com/10-reasons-why-you-should-never-host-your-own-videos/
I really recommend not doings it.
In terms of the video size 220mb!! that would make every user to your site have to download a file that large. In terms of pageload most browser would just crash or take minutes to load.
If you are set on self hosting then you would at least need to compress the video: http://www.wikihow.com/Compress-Video

March 31, 2016 at 4:51 pm #88614I got on your site (by the way best to post here in the future you can use Set as private reply.)
You had the border set.. see this image: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/1128858/c2b70ed8337c37b5d91298c71a4ee56f
Notice the border color is set. That you just have to clear.

March 31, 2016 at 1:23 pm #88596Just to follow up (more for anyone else who might read this).
Image size.. Tried to explain here that there is no perfect size because it depends on too many variables. : https://www.kadencewp.com/support-forums/topic/default-image-sizes/
You can recommend things but we try to make the support forms here more personal where if you showed me an example I could give you exact advice for your situation. There are things to weight like site performance vs the purpose of the image, content of the image and placement of the image. All of that for me goes into play when choosing the perfect size.
We do offer vauge suggestions here: https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/
In terms of a full tutorial for setting up a site. I actually suggest importing the demo content rather then adding each item or thing in a site because once you have the demo set up you can play with everything then spend the time creating your site how you want it with the items that you’re going to want to use.
But you’re right having a complete start to finish is a good thing. I’ll add it to my todo list.
Thanks for the feedback.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Removing Post Title from Header
March 31, 2016 at 1:14 pm #88595One more thing: Is it possible to keep some kind of reduced sized header image in my blog post, just with the site title rather than the post title? I ask because much of my traffic is driven to specific articles on my site by Google and I would like my branding to show.
Post now look like this:

Where home page looks like this: http://www.pintsizepilot.com/
Thanks.

If I could have found a walk-through and followed it once, I would have been able to learn how to do a lot more. I never did find what size images are suggested to use for the header etc. I think that you have great info and tutorials. Videos help me a lot, I just didn’t find one for setting up the actual site for the first time. I’m a beginner and maybe I need a theme that’s not so advanced, just yet. I’m disappointed because I love the way your theme looks.
Thanks for the refund. I appreciate it.

In forum: Virtue ThemeGreat theme!
Simple question. Someone modified the second occurrence of all side menus on the site and I don’t like the looks and need to change it. I believe they are “panel-last-child”There is nothing in my CSS that references this so I’m not sure how it was originally modified.
Sample page *Login to see link and *Login to see link

March 31, 2016 at 5:50 am #88520Hello,
I switched over an existing site to the virtue theme, and since that changeover I can’t seem to get the contact form working.
I’ve tested it with multiple email addresses, not sure what else to try?
website is: http://www.wheatberrydesign.com

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Sticky Header Options
Looking through the myriad of Premium options, I notice the Sticky Header Option, which of course is awesome!
What I’d like to do, is either
a) Have my header image start full size (like it is now) then shrink to the side, while the top menu stays in place
or
b) Have the header image stay full size and scroll, with only the top bar menu staying in place.
Either option would look awesome. My website is http://www.ckmartialhearts.com
Thanks in advance!

March 30, 2016 at 9:07 pm #88502Bottom line – i should use large images but compressed well ? And its absolutely safe in terms of optimization of the site and not slowing down the pages ?
Yes, That’s the point or responsive images and how the theme works. Browsers are only going to load the image size that’s needed.
In terms of compression see here: http://compressjpeg.com/
Run an image through it and you’ll see what I mean.
You can take a look here at site speed: https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I purchased the Premium Virtue theme via the Kadence website.
I am unable to upload the Premium Virtue Theme to WordPress due to the following error;
The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.
Can someone please advise.
regards,
PatrickIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Products images fuzzy
large images compressed well. 1200×1200 ?
You know ..i always remember that images on the web should be not larger than 600px so as to not make the site slow .
so you say that large images even as big as 1600×1600 are not going to slow down the site ?Bottom line – i should use large images but compressed well ? And its absolutely safe in terms of optimization of the site and not slowing down the pages ?
Thanks again

March 30, 2016 at 5:14 pm #88482When I do an inspect it shows 404 errors for all the images. Seems they are supposed to load through cdn but all the files don’t see to lead anywhere. see here for example: http://mainsite-bh.brookdalehouse.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Oh-Come-Let-Us-Adore-Him-Cover-5a.png
