In the general settings I have
WordPress Address (URL) = https://www.widefootdesign.com
Site Address (URL) = http://www.widefootdesign.com
My thought was that if I edited the site through wordpress through ssl then visitors could visit the site with or without ssl without problem (Like I said before I am ignorant on how all this works). I do force ssl once in checkout.
I found this issue when googling keywords to see my rankings and finding that google was linking the https:// site in the organic search results. Though I wouldn’t mind converting over to having the whole site force ssl once I get this issue solved.

February 24, 2016 at 1:11 pm #82846Hey,
You can go to apperance > customizer in the sidebar there you will see site identity.Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeFebruary 24, 2016 at 1:10 pm #82845What do you have for the site url in your settings > general? are you marking https there so things load correctly.
What is your final hope with ssl? Are you wanting everyone to visit your site with ssl? in that case you should be redirecting traffic from your none ssl url.

February 24, 2016 at 1:01 pm #82843Hey,
1. You can place the css into the child theme style. Just make sure your css is working from there. Because of css specificity you may have to add more specific css in the child theme since it’s being read by the browser earlier then your theme options custom css.2. It would have next to no impact on your site speed, especially if you are correctly using caching and minify. See here for speed tips: https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello! I just purchased the Premium Virtue theme, but when activating it I seem to have lost all the custom formatting and completely changed the visual appearance of my website. I reverted to the free version for now. Please advise on who to start using the premium theme without having to rework the entire site’s appearance. Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Embed Videos – Theme/plugin related
I’m not aware of any way you could run two themes simultaneously. I don’t think that WordPress is designed to handle that. Maybe you could combine the templates somehow, but that would require a ton of work to get it working properly.
And if you switch to that other theme then you’ll probably have to redo a lot of your website to get it looking good again.
Your best option is probably to try a few plugins like the one I sent you to see if you can find one that does everything you need it to do.
Ben will let us know the optimal way to go about this when he gets on here though, so I wouldn’t make any huge changes just yet.

This plugin is very widely used and has great reviews. I know that it’s being used on a number of Virtue sites already.

Give that a try and let me know if it works for you.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHey there,
its been a long time since I’ve been on here. Now its time to keep working on my project.
Im not sure whether or not Im supposed to ask these questions here, but Ill just give it a try.
I need a specific plugin or even a theme that I can combine with Virtue that allows me to create a whole page full of videos. I want to connect it with Youtube and add a search bar that allows to browse through youtube on my page. I know that this could be really hard to do and I am not a professional when it comes to programming and coding, but is there any such option? My Website: http://www.gymbrawl.com
-> go to videos, thats where I want to change it all. Thanks beforehand!

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I did clear the caching plugin prior to posting. Did you use Chrome to browse? Somehow Chrome will seem to load the scripts because I have visited the non-ssl version in the past, did you look at the non-ssl version of the site first? When I clear my chrome browsing cache and look at the ssl version, the scripts will not load. It seems other browsers I have tried (IE and Safari), will fail to load the scripts regardless of visiting the non-ssl version of the site beforehand.
Thank you
In forum: Virtue ThemeI my shop in my site is down. The error I am receiving is because of “Your theme (Virtue – Premium) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.”
I need help updating these files.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Allow center logo to bleed over top bar and slider?
Thanks, yes. For some reason I didn’t receive notification that you’d responded. Hence my delay in responding.
Currently, the site is http://roeblinglofts.com
I’m using a rectangular logo that I want to replace.
You can look at http://dev.roeblinglofts.com to see the new, oval logo. It’s currently 125 pixels high (or 250 in retina mode). I’d like to make it 150/300 and have the top of the oval logo bleed over 25 pixels of the top bar.
The site requires a password: DevelopmentServer
I don’t mind putting this on an open forum, as there’s really nothing on the dev server that isn’t on the open one, just some design experiments.

2) And finally is there any way I can remove the website field in the comment section?

Okay great, thanks!
What i mean is, that the revolution slider disapears. Its a full screen slider on my front page, and when i tried to make a new slider above the footer the revolution slider goes away. But i will try to look on the webpage Hannah send me, it might be helpful.
You said that wordpress will give me the option to download the german language files for wordpress, but i can’t find it. Where to find it?
Is there anywhere on the site where i can see all my topics? just so i can keep track on the notes and look back without browsing the general forums? -
