Topic: Polylang

#76281

Hi Guys,

I’m in the process of completely redoing my site and purchased your theme for it as I think it’s awesome. One thing though, I had a bilingual site using polylang. When I activate polylang, the home page will go either to the default language homepage or depending on settings to the English one

Unfortunately because of the redirect I guess somehow it doesn’t seem that either of those two URL’s are still recognized as the homepage and all I get is a (rather ugly looking) listing of my old blog posts.

Is there some sort of setting where I need to tell Virtue about this?

Thank you,
Fred Leeflang

No not at all. I’m unsure how the link turned into that display but you can just get to the site and poke around via wpsite-management.com
Then under the services link you’ll see them. well you’ll see the posts grid first…then individual post where the post carousels are.
Thanks
Frank

Hello! Making the mobile look exactly like the desktop site isn’t really possible with this theme. It is built to be responsive, and you’d have to alter a lot of the code in order to get it to stay the same. Everything appears to be behaving as it should on mobile though.

Are you wanting the logo and the site title to line up better in mobile? The alignment there could be fixed with some CSS.

Hello, I have another question (sorry I’m beginner) in Secondary Navigation is in 2 lines and I wanted to stay all in one single line. How can I solve that? My website

Somehow my update for the virtue premium is not showing up now in the wordpress panel. I still have version 3.3.3 and I was waiting on getting some free time to update my site, because of the changes that I needed to make regarding language translations.

Hey,
I’m not seeing this on the site right now. I would say based on the image it would be hard to make that much text look good on a small screen but it’s certainly possible to force it really small when the screen size gets small. If you want to enable it I can help with the css. should be something like this:

@media (max-width: 768px) {
.kad-slider-1929 .kad-slide-1 .kadcaptiontext p {
font-size: 18px;
line-height:18px;
}
}

Hi Hannah,
In case I wasn’t clear in my original post, the issue was after a customer registered, they couldn’t login. On Windows 10 browser it worked, not on Chrome, how weird. The login page would just keep reloading and not take the customer to their account. I am using the latest version of the theme 3.4.5 at bounciesfrombohemia.com.

I also contacted woothemes and they thought it was a caching issue and suggested I look at my ZenCache settings. I had deactivated that plugin and still had the problem. But I agree that somehow it was a caching issue. Since I needed to find a solution quickly, I went a different route by installing the ultimate member plugin and used that for customer login and woocommerce customer profile. Low and behold it works in all browsers and plays nice with the theme and woocommerce.

The original cause is still a mystery, but the site works now.

Hi, I have set up this website and it looks good on the computer but doesn’t look right on the mobile. How do I fix it so that the site looks the same as it does on the mobile device as it does on the computer? I think it’s ok everything but if you can see page title and subtitle on mobile device look something wrong (and that is with paralax part).
Thank you in advance for your assistance with this!

Hello, here is a link to my site. http://fueledandfabulous.com/fuel

You will see there are two responses – one from a reader, and my reply. I wondered if I could make the shading of my reply a different colour in order that it stands out.

Hello Richard here.

I enjoy and am grateful for how virtue premium has helped me to get my fitness site up and running.

My site is
Grrillagym.com

My questions. On mobile, especially the philosophy page, isn’t responsive. Images are blocked off and headline text is wrapping incorrectly.

I’m very new to all of this and certain I am inefficient in how I’m designing and laying it out.

I want my site to look like
Sixmorevodka.com, the site of my favorite artist ever.

I had to use a bunch of visual editor widgets (for text) then a rev slider (so I can get full screen image) then text, etc.

There has to be another way to get my entire layout to look like the sixmorevodka site no?

There’s is excellently responsive. Mine…it’s just off.

Thank you

Hi Will,
Are you using the latest version of the theme? Can you post a link to your site?
Thanks,
Hannah

Unfortunately no.
This is what I put in the post:

I replaced “YOUR-VIDEO-LINK” with the actual link. Is that right?
(FYI: That’s a new link, just for testing, because the other link is gone from the source site now.)

Thanks for your help Hannah.

Hi Richard,
Do you mind posting a link to your site?
Thanks!

Hey! The demo site uses the Revolution Slider that comes with the theme. Make sure that it’s activated, and you can find the options to create a slider like the one on the demo site via the wp-admin area at the bottom left of your main options.

Hope that helps!

HI Ben,

bit of a problem, on this site:

the drop down from the secondary nav stopped working. I upgraded woocommerce and upgraded the dependent theme files, perhaps that has had something to do with it?

can you take a look. on mobile navigation, the links are there so i know its not a bug in wordpress or anything.

the drop down is from the ‘shop’ link, there are two, you will see them in the code- why on the front of the site they are not showing is a mystery.

thanks

J
