    Hey,
    Do you mean the plugin? Yes, I believe it does work in moving subdomains from from multisites. The theme developer would have a lot more insight on all of this. He is currently traveling with limited internet access, but when he gets on I’ll be sure he gives this attention.
    Hope your host can also bring some insight! Thanks for your patience.

    Ben,

    This might help.

    I have another site with 3.4.1 installed and the Mobile Friendly test works. Same host. The sites with 3.4.5 virtue premium the Mobile Friendly test has a fetch error.

    Hi Hannah,

    Please disregard #1 and 2. My mistake – I had just moved the site but the image links were still pointing to the other URL and nothing was showing anywhere. Now all good.

    3 – can you recommend a mobile template that plays well with Virtue?

    4 – Yes, that did help on that page. What I’m really wondering is if there is one line of code that would make the box expand to the text that is in it. What you gave me fits that sentence, but if on another page the marketing is twice as long, it bunches up the text in two lines. Does that exist?

    Thank you again,

    Luke

    Thanks, Kevin; that was the reminder I needed…in both cases. Thanks very much. It’s not behaving entirely as expected, though. In some cases, the CSS seems to be overriding the choices made in Basic Styling; in other cases, not. To see what was going on, I selected easily distinguishable colors.

    a:active {
    color: #008000;						/* green - doesn't display correctly */
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    a:hover {
    color: #FF0000;						/* red - doesn't display correctly */
    text-decoration: none;
    }

    a:link {
    color: #0000FF;						/* blue - displays correctly */
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    a:visited {
    color: #00FFFF;						/* aqua - displays correctly */
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    The other colors that you see are those chosen in Basic Styling. Any idea what’s happening? It’s not a big deal ’cause it works well enough right now, but I figure a job worth doing…

    I just tested your code on my site and it worked right away. Do you have any other maps plugins enabled that may be conflicting? I would suggest deactivating your plugins one by one to test. Let me know if there’s no change.

    Website Link

    Hello, The links in my text are difficult to identify as links until I hover over them. For example, below the map on the page linked above are 4 links; 3 shop names, and a word in the bottom paragraph. I seem to remember settings that allow me to edit link style, but if it’s there, I’m not finding it. Could you please remind me how / where to do that?

    Hi Ben,

    I uploaded the zip via WP. I tested it on another site I have and it works fine. I’m wondering if it has to do with the fact that it’s on a sub domain with WP? I try re-upload it

    elitepc.org – working fine
    debenedictis.me/costarica – not working

    Hey, I believe what you’re talking about will need some custom CSS to fix. Could you send a link to your site so that I can take a look?

    Thanks!

    #75387

    Hey! Any chance you can send a link to the site you’re working on so I can try and duplicate it on my demo site?

    Thanks!

    Hey! I was having the same issue when I tested your problem on my demo site. It ended up just taking a little bit for the changes to take place, and now the correct words are loading. It could very well be a caching error causing your issue. Have you tried clearing it?

    Hi, I don’t know who to write about this. I’m using a child theme. I need to restore my database (used UpdraftPlus to backup) but am getting this error which points to these instructions.

    I’m pretty sure the problem is in my child theme’s functions.php file. Here’s what I’ve observed:
    When I switch from Virtue Child Premium to Virtue Premium, the white-space error disappears.
    Child theme contains only functions.php & style.css
    If I delete only style.css from Virtue Child Premium, the error persists.
    If I delete only functions.php from Virtue Child Premium, the error message disappears.
    If I delete everything in functions.php, the error message persists.
    If functions.php contains only <?php or <?php ?> or <?php?>, the error message persists.

    My functions.php looks like this:

    <?php
    //A Closer Look tab - 100% merino
    add_shortcode('std_detailsa', 'std_detailsa');
    function std_detailsa() {
    $html = '<h4>Yarn:<br></h4>';
    $html .= '<p>Full skeins are presented in up to 60″ / 152 cm twisted hanks, or center pull cakes – as you wish. Please select your preference from the boxed choices in the order area above, and we’ll be happy to send that to you. It’s also presented in quarter and mini skeins.<br></p>';
    $html .= '<p>If your project calls for more than we have in stock, please write to us. We would be glad to dye some more especially for you.<br></p>';
    $html .= '<p>Wherever you are in the world, you pay shipping only on the first skein; additional skeins and bobbins ship free.<br></p>';
    $html .= '<p>If you use Ravelry, we’re Dave (Dave-B) and son Will (BrWhatsit), and we invite you to check out our Rav group. It’s called Meadowcroft Dyeworks. Also for fellow Ravelers; if you display your stash there, and you buy some of our yarns, you’re welcome to use any of our photos if you wish.</p>';
    $html .= '<h4>Color:<br></h4>';
    $html .= '<p>From a monitor that’s calibrated monthly, to quality photo lighting & camera equipment, and the best editing practices we know of, we put a lot of effort & time into reproducing the color of our yarns accurately in these photographs. We know, though, that monitors can vary, and you may not see the color with the accuracy we’re aiming. That’s part why we make returns easy.<br></p>';
    $html .= '<h4>Care:<br></h4>';
    $html .= '<p>We recommend hand washing in cool water with mild soap and laying flat to dry. You may also machine wash on the gentle cycle, but the life of the garment may be reduced. Please do not use a mechanical dryer.<br></p>';

Please let us know your wishes about color, for example, “heavy in purples”, “no yellow”, “anything full spectrum”, or “no pastels”. We’ll do our best to accommodate.<br></p>';

Within any lot, we won’t give you two that are the same unless you specifically ask. They will all be fingering weight, spun from superwash merino (with up to 10% cashmere or 25% bamboo in a couple of rare cases, and up to 20% nylon in a very few more), handpainted yarns. A small percentage may be from our own stash of indie dyer sock yarns to fill voids in some color areas. These are some of our favorite yarns from dyers like Dragonfly Fibers (lots!), Collinette Jitterbug, The Sanguine Gryphon, Koigu (lots!), Sundara, madelinetosh, and all of these will be clearly labeled, too.</p>';

    return $html;

    add_shortcode('std_detailse', 'std_detailse');

    $html .= '<p>Rustic Silk Traveler is a Silk / Merino blend that combines warm-buttery softness with a radience and luminosity that can display the intense, vibrant color and occasional iridescence of an Amazonian beetle as easily as the sublte shades of a seashell. I love how it takes color and then returns it holding back nothing. There’s something both ironic and captivating about the nature of a rustic high-twist single when it’s made with fibers as luxurious as these, without plies to complicate the visual field. Rustic Silk Traveler is a robust, impeccably crafted yarn, and it comes in colors you’ll savor.<br></p>';

    Do you see anything that might be causing the issue I’m experiencing? Can I safely restore the database while in Virtual Premium, then switch back to Virtual Child Premium again after it’s finished?

    Peace,

    Dave

    ETA: On my local HDD, in my child theme’s directory are, in addition to style.css and functions.php, are also wp.config.php and something called WholesalePage.css that I would think should also be in my child theme root on the server, but aren’t. WholesalePage.css is probably associated with a particular plug-in and I can ask them about it specifically, but does wp.config.php also belong in my child theme’s root? I wish I could remember how that even came to be involved.

    Hi,

    I’am using the portfolio functionality on my website and want to activate the bottom carousel feature on the bottom of the page but can’t seem to set the height and width of the feature images that appear in the carousel. This results in the feature images that appear in the carousel being cropped which causes me problems as the images have text in the corner.

    How can I set the height and width of the images that appear in the bottom carousel?

    Thanks Mark

    #75363

    Hello to all,
    I’m trying to set the carousel image of the portfolio . I would have several questions :
    1 ) set autoplay slide without interruption ( now goes snap ) .
    2 ) set the left and right arrow icon ( all three icons ) on white and black color with another color hover

    this is the link

    anyone can help me?

    thank you very much!

    Hi

    I would like users to be able to post new blog entries, but it seems that this can only be done at the back-end but I want a link on front end website Blog area that says ‘ Create new Blog entry’ so that normal users can create their own entries without having to visit wp-admin

    Can someone please confirm my initial suspicions that this ‘front end’ functionality actually does not seem to be available by default and secondly recommend a simple plugin that I can implement to provide a button to ‘post a new blog entry’ for users that is nicely compatible with Virtue?

    Anyone doing this care to share a URL to your site? I’d love to see examples – Thanks

    Russ

    Hello

    Is it possible to get rid of the links on the right from ALL pages on my Virtue 3.4.5 Premium theme?

    I have gotton rid it by applying most pages (Contact, About Us etc etc) as FULLWIDTH template, but for ‘some’ pages like the Blog entries etc – I cannot fathom it out despite them being set to FULLWIDTH it is still there. I’ve looked around the Blog Options and turned a few settings off but I cannot get the section to dissappear from everywhere.

    Reason – I do not want users to by clicking on Site Admin – I know that they are constrained by role – but no reason for them to by there so it’s just a distraction.

    Thanks
