Hi. I just tried to perform an update from within my WP admin page, and got an error saying that there was a problem in deleting the old theme. Then my updates page showed that everything was up to date. But when I went to view my site, it was gone–literally. Nothing but a blank page.

I contacted my developer, who was able to restore it by reinstalling the previous version from my downloaded zip file. She said she had had problems updating the non-premium version, also, but had hoped that it would work itself out with the premium version. Apparently not.

My site is running on WP 4.4, on a Microsoft-IIS/6.0 server. Here’s the URL, in case that’s helpful: *Login to see link .

Can you help me get to the bottom of this? At this stage, I’m uneasy about doing any updating on my own.

First, in the backend/dashboard area, it asks for my ftp credentials (which usually means it’s not going to be able to connect). Then…

I have two sites using the Virtue Premium theme. I was able to successfully update one to VP 3.4 and WordPress 4.4. However, the second site, at http://www.shanachie.org is now a disaster! All of the photos that were in separate galleries on many of the pages are randomly spread around the pages now, and the captions that were so nicely contained and activated through hover are in long lines next to the photos instead. The lightbox feature seems to be working, though.

Not sure what I did (or didn’t do), what is causing this, or how to fix it. I thought I used Pagebuilder to add the galleries, but now Pagebuilder has disappeared from my plugins, and I am unable to “install” it (due to that old permissions problem with the host, presumably, although some plugins install and update just fine), though the notice with the plugin says it is “packaged with this theme.”

Before updating, I saved a backup, which I then re-installed, thinking that would fix things, but they remain messed up (although everything was just fine before the upgrade/updates!).

Any ideas? Please help!

Hey Elizabeth.
I’m not sure what to tell you. This is how the slider has worked since I created the theme. Images can’t be cropped to grow and if the slider settings have a width larger then the image width it can’t be copped and thus the height can’t be cropped.

It’s possible if before you were using jetpacks photon that your image would have been stretched and cropped but the flex system doesn’t grow images.

For an example if you switch to the carousel slider instead of the flex slider then your images will all be cropped by height and maintain whatever ratio to width you have in the uploaded image.

So right now on your site I still see the same image and I see the slider width set to 1150px. Did you try uploading a larger image?

Woocommerce has free support but it’s limited. There premium support typically requires that you have purchased something from them. But if you make a free account you can ask a question. Or go to the plugin page on wordpress.org

I don’t think your issue has to do with the woocommerce though. Not in the sense that there is an error. Most likely something isn’t set up right in your settings or (and regardless of what your host is saying) something in your host. Literally millions use woocommerce and I can tell you that I’m using paypal without issue on this site for example.

Who are you hosting with? Why does your server think paypal is the issue? Did they explain whats happening?

1. I see the video in edge. It takes a second to load because you are hosting the video on your own server but it shows fine.

Also your images have to be at least 366×366 if you want all square in a three column layout. Currently you have images that are not at least 366px in height so the theme can’t crop them to size :

I suggest deactivating it and then testing. Make sure you clear the site cache.

Im having a Paypal to woo commerce problem and Ive tried everything written on the support forums of woo commerce.

Basically when I receive a order paypal receives the funds – the order goes on hold through woo commerce and then it is canceled is 1 hour.
It was all working perfectly yesterday and I’ve gone back and removed plugins and everything thing else suggested however nothing has worked to date.

On my woo commerce system status I’m getting this error. Im not even sure this is related.

Any ideas on what i should do?

I am working on an updated version of my website. When I try and use a thumbnail layout for the gallery the pictures display as different sizes. I even tried enabling the masonry feature. You can see an example of my issue here:*Login to see link

Keep in mind that is a staging site so a lot of other work needs to be done.

I was trying to listen on Firefox, which is the browser I use, and could not hear anything. But when I just tried on Chrome it works. Now that I’ve had a chance to listen I’ve decided to keep the music off, though I am wondering why it won’t play on Firefox. I cleaned the cache on the browser and site.

***A bigger problem is that when I just tried the site on Microsoft Edge, the movie is not playing at all. All I see is a black screen with the words popping up. Can you please help me out with this?

Regarding my 2nd question: Thank you. That worked, but now I’m wondering if it’s possible to remove the banner from the mobile phone, but keep it for the tablet. If not, I think I’d like to know how I can remove it so it doesn’t appear on the phone or tablet.

Hey Jose,
You don’t get a activation code when using the slider through a theme license. I’ll try to clear this up. When you purchased a theme you got access to use the plugin on one site through the themes license. This is separate from direct licensing from the plugin authors and there has always been a way for you to enter a purchase code if you wanted direct support and updates from the plugin authors (on previous versions of the slider it was hidden by defualt).

Recently the revolution slider plugin authors have made a push to offer some special things if you get a license directly from them. Things like direct updates from them instead of having to get updates as the theme updates. and direct support from them, they also started offering some demo sliders that they are calling “premium templates” and this is just a quick way to add some demo sliders that you can copy.

So to sum up you don’t need to add a purchase code to use the slider on the one domain that you get per license of this theme but if you wish to use the slider on more then one domain you have to get another license on a per domain basis from the plugin authors.

For updates you just need to update the theme. For example if you update the theme today then you will get a notice that you can update the revolution slider to the latest 5.1.5

i was close to start to publish it but i realised that when i am sharing a post in facebook, some posts do not display any picture or excerpt
some of them do, but not many

these two are working:
