In reply to: Going from IG PageBuilder to Page Builder SiteOrigin
Well now…. that sucks canal water. Even when I deactivate SiteOrigin and activate IG the page doesn’t line up in columns like the original, and I can’t get it to adhere to the “select up to 4” items rule. There’s a lot on this site that used IG.
Thanks for the prompt reply, Ben.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I imported a site that was using IG PageBuilder into the Virtue premium site. There’s one page on the site that has a very, very long list of product options to choose from on the right side of the page, and nothing but a large image on the left side. How do I use the Page Builder by SiteOrigin to get rid of the image on the left, put in a page-width image at the top of the page, and then turn that long list of items into 3 or 4 columns in order to shorten up this excessively long list? The current imported page is a hot mess of IG PageBuilder shortcodes. Also, on the original page customers could only select UP TO 4 items. Now they can select every option on the page if they wanted to.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Making a widget overlap its section
December 16, 2015 at 5:13 pm #71757Hey,
If I understand correctly, That isn’t an option. I wish I could offer more but the premise of making an image menu widget overlap isn’t really possible. It looks like your wanting something mosaic like this: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/mosaic-gallery/
You could set that up and make the images a link.
Else if your wanting to fill an area you can set a background image.
Finally making something absolute could move it out of the columns (kind of) but in a responsive site it’s not a very good option.

I think so. Clients want their own clear register/log in page and a list of choice partners accounts. Not logging in via a WordPress site that sends them to a WP dashboard. I assume I would need to install woocommerce to utilize the theme’s log in system, right? If so, which woocommerce plug in? FYI…won’t have any ecommerce right now. Will also check out ultimate member to see which would be suitable.
Does the WordPress login allow to create a register/log in page that follows theme design for the pages; and has a customizable accounts database for those who register? Thanks.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Can't set parent page for portfolio projects
December 16, 2015 at 3:59 pm #71741Did you assign an image to each portfolio type? By editing the portfolio type you should have a place to add an image. Nothing would show in the portfolio category grid page until you have images assigned.
You should stick to publishing everything normally. Don’y use the private option in wordpress to make your site not public. Those don’t mean the same thing.

Ben, I think you may be right. Subscriptions were active. So I deactivated it. Do I need to disable any other part of Jetpack before I install another plug in that will be a register/log in system that utilizes a website page, redirect to homepage after logging in to start posting/replying/commenting? As I mentioned I like Kadence example of a simple register and login page.
Any recommendations on the plugin? I would hope the plug in would set up a database list of users that will have a “my account” feature where profiles will be available to my clients to use for marketing and announcements. Those that log in will be designated “Choice Partners.”

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Resize text/fonts
Hey Ben,
Thanks for all of the words and advice. I am figuring it out and things are looking good size wise on mobile vs. desktop, etc. Now I am having another issue.
I read that for Slider Revolution and to maximize load efficiency of images, backgrounds, etc. that you want to try and have the Layer Grid Size the same as the actual image size. So I resized my high-res image on my main slider (from 2500+) to something more manageable. The image responds and looks great on both desktop and phone. Now my text/content/buttons won’t line up. On my “interface” where I am working and laying things out, the text looks centered and solid. Exactly where it needs to be based on what my eye sees on my monitor. Once I save settings and view my site however, the text is mis-aligned. It IS perfectly aligned in the center but buttons with large text now overlap content and smaller font, etc.If there is a way I can show you images, I took some to illustrate the issues I’m having. Can I just upload them to my ftp/website host somehow?

I was trying to use both the WordPress Text Widget and the Vitual Editor.
Here is a link to the page I am trying to add the button to: http://designenginestage1.us/whitetail-hunter-series-archery-target/
Would the Site Origin Text Widget be better?

December 16, 2015 at 12:10 pm #71703ok, so you are clearing the cache on the site right?
“the page loads and I can’t see any items.”
^ That would be caused by a javascript error… like the facebook one i’ve told you about. or one if you didn’t clear the cache (rocket cache)on your site and updated anything like a plugin or theme or wordpress.“Everytime I add the photo to the site, it wipes it out and sends me back to the page to upload the photo.”
^ thats how you have the product page set up? You don’t redirect to chart when someone adds something to cart so they would be right back on the same product page and since the image was uplaoded an set with the item to cart the user would then not see the image area filled because there product is in the cart.
Have you been able to see the image issue? Was this just one person?

Yes, the free one is activated as the premium is not working smoothly. I was running the premium until clients started emailing me with problems ordering.
Here are some messages from clients:I like the bangle on your shop page ;l the one with the Keeshond picture but it’s not on the bracelet page. Also there are no pictures at all on your memorial page.
Not sure if it is a problem here or with your
website, when I click to view different products
the page loads and I can’t see any items.
I will try again tomorrow but thought you would
like to know in case it is a problem your end and
needs fixing.
Looking forward to placing an order as I haven’t
done so and should have done it years ago.
Thanks and have a good day.Trying to order a necklace for my daughter. Everytime I add the photo to the site, it wipes it out and sends me back to the page to upload the photo.
These all happened with the premium theme.
I will disactivate all facebook plugins.

December 16, 2015 at 11:32 am #71691I’m confused. You have the free theme activated again? Why? Whenever you update are you making sure to clear your cache?
You still have a plugin adding this:
“http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js” and that is not https so it’s causing errors.Which is still not allowing the site to be full ssl.
I just activated the premium theme. Ran through tests nothing was wrong. Uploaded an image to a product without issue on multiple browsers. What browser are you not seeing this working on? And have you cleared your cache?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Icon Menu Equal Height
Hey,
I am wondering how to keep my icon menus all the same height. I tried min-height but then on an iPad they were different lengths. I tried max-height but then the text would display outside the box. I assume I need to set a fixed height and then adjust the font size to fit inside the box, but I’m not sure how to accomplish that. Hope you can help! 🙂

Hey Richard,
Virtue theme was set up to be fully responsive. See here- http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/
Can you post a link to your site so I can see if anything is interfering with the responsiveness?Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: SEO and pages
hey,
To increase SEO is it interesting to include key words in the URL of the pages ? I mean creating a parent page my-keywords and putting all my pages as child pages of the my-keywords page ?
mysite/my-pages –> mysite/my-keywords/my-pagesIn that case do I have to change something in the menus and pages where shop, checkout, cart…are included by Woocommerce or is it automatically done ?
Thanks you.
Gerard
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Width of pages
hey,
Is it possible to change the width of the pages by changing the parameters or css style sheet (In my site they all use the fullwidth model). Is there a max limit ? Is the use of pagebuilder one or the the only mean to change page width ?
In that case do I have to change the width of the header and footer also or is it automatic ?
If a posts list is included in a page content will it be changed also automatically ?
Before to create this topic I red some of the previous topics on that matter but it is not still fully clear to me. Sorry.
Thanks
Gerard
