In forum: Virtue ThemeIm having issues with the slider on my home page. It was working perfect but the it started placing the images in a weird way, either display twice the same or all of the in a row and smaller. You can see by yourself, my website is http://www.the-rise.com . I can also attach some screenshots if necessary.

I will send my login shortly, but first need to redo what I just deleted so you can see it. And just to clarify, I do want a portfolio that will display both videos and photos. I really like the look of the Virtue theme, even though it appears better designed for a commerce site than my needs. What I didn’t like, for my purposes, was how the Portfolio didn’t allow videos to open and play without navigating to another page. I would love to get the lightbox link to open the video and not the screen grab.

ok, set a private is the best way to send login info.
I see that you have demo content. I also see that you installed wp-super cache. I’ve turned this off so you can see updates as you make them. Else you would have to clear that plugin cache after every change.
Now tell me what you want? Based on what I see you don’t have any of your own content. are you wanting me to start you over? remove all the content that is there and give you a clean site?

Okay. I think I did that, but video is still linking to the video on the Vimeo site and I don’t see a lightbox. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ve done this all correctly. I am trying to follow your instructions the best I can. If I’d just been able to work with the Virtue plug ins I think I would have been fine, as I was able to build a portfolio page and other items that worked, but these work a rounds are beyond my knowledge base, unless you really give me step by step instructions. I’m not expecting that, just saying. I really appreciate all your help, but I’m about ready to eat the cost of paying for this theme and find one that makes doing what I want to do a lot easier, unless you have some more detailed instruction for me.

If you can’t access the admin something happened during that update that didn’t install all the files. What you need to do it access your site through the cpanel or ftp you need to get into the web file manger if your going through cpanel.
Then you need to navigate to the wp-content/themes folder and remove the virtue premium theme.
Then you should have access to your site. From there login and go to themes > add new. And upload the latest version from here: https://www.kadencewp.com/my-account/

many thanks for the fast answer.
Your suggested solution works, BUT – with the size I “only” can change the height of the menu entries. My Problem is, I see there are “free areas” between the Menu entries (Dont know how they are named)

At the moment this site is in a early development state and I’m not very familar with wordpress, doing a lot setting-and-look for the effect to understand this great professional theme better.
Because of I dont want a public internet access on this site it is protected with htpasswd.

HiddenWhen I check the Hidden option for certain of my products, they still are accessible through the Search field in the main navigation at the top of my website.
For example:

search for “Self Esteem”The products Self Esteem CD, and Self Esteem MP3 both appear in the search results. But both of these products have been set to “hidden” in the product admin.
The reason they are set to hidden is that they are grouped together with one Self Esteem overall product, so customers can choose CD or MP3. Having them all show up in a search is problematic.
How can I get the top search to obey the hidden rule?

Hi Ben
I have actually Published the Demo. I’d installed all Demo content via the importer. It really thinks the Demo is my site.
I cannot alter anything. When I look at all my admin – all that is correct and visible to me. BUT try to go into make any alterations
at all and it refuses to have anything other than Pinnacle and the Demo. Despite doing such an utterly idiotic thing – what I’m describing is
fact. I pressed Publish when the Demo was installed and now it won’t accept any change. If I go into another Theme I can see a Preview of a different theme.
But when I go back to try to alter anything – nothing will accept any changes – yet all the admin side shows the site title as it should be. But it won’t
alter from that admin to what’s there which is the Published Pinnacle Demo. Sorry – I feel like a total ***** Please HELP.

What’s on the home page are not my blog posts.. I’ve been updating my pages on my website and I can’t seem to get my posts to display. The Home page is not even showing up. I have tried putting this page into Draft – it comes up as a 404 page. I’ve reset my permalinks – for whatever reason I can’t get my posts to show up.

You can’t import a database backup on top of your database that would break everything. What did you use to backup the site? What type of file is your databse backup? Did you contact your host?
