In reply to: problem after upgrade
September 28, 2015 at 11:35 am #60491Ok, I’m looking at your site and it seems you have added a version using a file structure that is incorrect.
themes/virtue_premium_v2_6_8/virtue_premium/and it should be:
themes/virtue_premium/Because that file structure is wrong it looks at the theme as it’s own unique theme.
How did you install the theme? You should be using the wp admin > appearance > themes > add new.
Right now you need to install the theme in that method then once it’s activated you will have to go to appearance > menus and set all your menus because it’s considered a “new” theme and you have to set menus on a theme by theme basis.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Comment and account
I have the same question—how to add comments to my posts. I don’t want comments on other pages. When I enable comments on pages through the theme options they appear on pages and not posts. That’s the opposite of what I want. Any suggestions?
Thanks
P.S. I just noticed this is Virtue, but I’m using Pinnacle on this one.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How To Change Home Title And Home Description
September 28, 2015 at 11:03 am #60471Yes I do. And I suggest using Yoast as it’s the easiest and best way to set SEO meta tags.
Our suggestions with your site identity assumed you were using a logo image. But since you are just using text that won’t work. So back to Yoast. I really suggest this is your best method.
In yoast under SEO > Titles and Metas. Click on the “home page” tab and you can set the meta for the home page.

September 28, 2015 at 10:30 am #60460Hey,
There isn’t an option for this within the pinnacle theme. You don’t have to have a transparent header though if you want your menu to stick out more. IN the theme options > site header turn the transparent header off. With it off I can help you with some css that would make the menu sit below the site title/logo area but you can’t have site title then image then menu.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How To Change Home Title And Home Description
Hi Ben/Bogdan, yes I did, but that is for the actual website title and description within the homepage. My web url is below:
What I mean is from the search results within google, rather than it saying “amazing pebbles” and “beautiful pebbles for your inspiration”, I want to change what people see when they search within google, EG title users see in Google ‘buy beautiful beach pebbles’, description underneath ‘hand collected beach pebbles and beach stones’. Do you see what I mean?

September 28, 2015 at 9:30 am #60440Hey David.
1. Menu, in your appearance > menus. Have you assigned a menu to the mobile navigation?
2. The sitename is a little large on mobile so I suggest you add this css in your theme options > advanced settings:
@media (max-width: 767px){ body header #logo a.brand { font-size: 36px; } body .kad_tagline { font-size:20px; } }3. The home slider doesn’t seem to be set up well for mobile. Can you tell me what your settings are?

September 28, 2015 at 9:22 am #60437I suggest yoast. May feel like a lot at first but it’s worth the learning curve.
Bogdan has it right in explaining that you can set the meta title and description using appearance > customize in your admin. Have you set the site identity there?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Banner image – top or on each page
September 28, 2015 at 8:45 am #60430Hello,
Yes I see where you are coming from – but that’s basically what I already tried by just using the visual editor – so just to clarify what I already wrrote:
“I tried adding an image to the topbar widget which looks ok BUT it is super tiny and really need it to go 100% of the width – or to be able to adjust it so it looks alright…”
I don’t want the image to be a quarter of the width of the screen…I want it to go the width of the topbar – so like 100% ??I can leave it on briefly – but keep in mind it is a live site so if the owners get upset i’ll need to take it down – but here’s how it looks now:
http://www.dronfieldhallbarn.org/This is by using ‘layout builder’as suggeste -and looks EXACTLY the same as using visual editor in the topbar widget that I tried this morning…
Many thanks
NicIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I got the permalink to change in portfolio from portfolio to brands and it works fine. However I have a french version of the site and wanted the permalink to be different than the english one, instead of brands to marques. How can I do this?
Thanks,
Patrice
In forum: Virtue ThemeSure I can, but I don’t know how it will help as there is no content visible.
The site is in French (English version is not yet complet). The ‘Staff Page’ is “Notre Equipe” (our team).LE DOMAINE -> Notre Equipe.
http://www.domainelatourboisee.com/wp/?page_id=194&lang=fr
I am reasonably good with PHP and mysql so if there is something that I can modify in the mysql database to simply revert the Staff page back to a two column layout, I’d be happy with it.
thanks

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: I cant find things help
I abandoned this whole theme a while ago as I was just struggling so much. I am back to try and make it work.
I cannot find where to edit the content of the footer
for instance it still says
“Virtue Theme
Duis iaculis pretium fermentum. Duis at placerat lacus, non luctus dui. Nunc vel enim eu eros congue laoreet. Nunc mollis dui sed consequat cursus. Nam vel nulla mi. Duis fringilla leo blandit augue cursus iaculis.”
I cant find where to edit the numbers and social button linksI know this wont be the last things I cant find.
I feel so stupid that I cant find it and I have been through everything. is there a walk through tutorial that will take me step by step to customize all parts of the site? I installed all the woo and Virtue demo content as i thought that would help but also in the top bar it says “Buy here” and the link goes to Kadence but I cant find where to change it..
I used to make my own html websites years ago so I feel like I should not be having such a heard time with this but I seem worse than the average Jo whos never done anything fancy on computers.sorry this isn’t the happiest post I just feel like WordPress hates me. I think there must be some logical flow to it that once I understand I should be right?
Help I am literally in tearsall I need to achieve is to mimic this site somewhat and be nice to take advantage of some nice features

Is there a way I can add an image to each page/top of the page that displays on each page without taking the whole thing over?
I tried adding a banner image – but it was too big and it has the header background which made it look too busy
I tried adding an image to the topbar widget which looks ok BUT it is super tiny and really need it to go 100% of the width – or to be able to adjust it so it looks alright…Is there anything else I am not thinking of?
Or is there a way I can edit the topbar widget css to display wider? Here is the site: http://www.dronfieldhallbarn.org

NicIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: changing font in Woocommerce Product filter
Hi Hannah,
Thank you for your reply 🙂
I think I’ve formultaed me wrong – sorry. Its the Woocommerce Layered nav (the on that uses attributes) which I try to change.
This is my site
StoreI tried to change header 5 color and place the css in the custom css box with and with out the “#” but it doesnt seem to change the font of the woocommerce layerd nav text but it changes the categori links which I have.
BUT…while writing this I change header 3 color and this worked 🙂
It the css with or without the “#”? Sorry for asking Are you sure of that the css code are correct? Because I would prefer only changing the font of the navigation and not a header which I may have to use to something else.
Can you reccomend any other layered navigation that works well with Your theme? Are You planning to build an layered nav into the Virtue theme?

AndersIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: home page translation issue
Hello,
Since I have installed a Kadence Slider that I have set up in 2 languages, the translation of the English page works only half (only carousels are in English).
The default language is French.
To set up the Kadence Slider, I have followed Ben’s advices found in the forum : *Login to see linkHere’s the link of my website: http://www.fashionsorbet.com
Thank you,
MarylineIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I just noticed a few weeks back that the transparent header on my site isn’t fully transparent anymore – the menu section has an off white background, the same background colour chosen for when the user scrolls down the page.
I’ve tried re-setting the options in the Site Header section of theme options, but no joy. How do i make it fully transparent including the menu section?
Checked on Safari and Chrome (although Chrome appears to ignore the ‘full width slider’ setting. Ugh)

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: only show top level categories in shop filter
September 27, 2015 at 8:53 am #60339Hey,
There isn’t with a theme option. The filter is only designed for single page shops where all the products are on the one page. It doesn’t work like a menu that re-queries all the products on your site and pulls them in it only filters what is visible on the page. So It’s not really set up for tons of options. But if you really want to use understanding it’s limitations I can help you hide items with css. Or if you have a larger shop and you want the “filter” options you might like using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/yith-woocommerce-ajax-navigation/
