Hey,
1. Yes it’s compatible. It’s also a very simple test to activate a different theme in your wordpress datatbase one that I am surprised your host didn’t just do as they were trouble shooting.

Also caching plugins can/will effect those php accelerators. That would be my first place to start.

2. Just upfront about speed:
95% of your sites performance is going to come done to your hosting. No plugin or setting will make it fast if you are on low quality hosting.

auto ode is not possible

That would be based on your hosting. If your hosts settings don’t allow minify to run automatically then you have an issue that I suggest you talk with your hosting company about. (unless of courser you are adding stuff that you shouldn’t into your htaccess files or something).. regardless don’t work around an issue unless you understand why you need to.

Just a note I think wp rocket is worth the price for a caching plugin but that won’t fix your above issues. The issues you have above are not plugin related they have to do with your setup which you should fix first regardless of what plugin.

I’ve personally used that plugin with this theme without issue? Can you post a link to your site? Have you tried on a different theme to make sure your settings are correct?

Hi,
so I have two questions: I am trying to get a better site speed and talked to my hoster who recommended to switch from PHP 4.5.37 to 4.5.37 with Opcode and APCu. I did this and suddenly my site including the backend was not accessible anylonger. My hoster tried for two days to sort this out but they had never had anything like this happen before and still don’t know why it is not working. They said they think it is either because of the theme or the plugins(or the combination of them) and told me to ask you if Virtue Premium is compatible with PHP 4.5.37 with Opcode and APCu.
My second question is regarding W3. I have tried to get it configured properly(as well as other cache plugins) but can’t seem to get it right.
For example, if I enable the minify option, it gives me a warning that auto ode is not possible, so I chose manual and added every js and css script that was possible to add(w/o the layout breaking). Then, when doing another pingdom test, my site was actually slower and there was even a red js warning from the minify. I played around with only using combine and not minify, still no change. Then I disabled minify completely and tried Autoptimize, which really speeds up once the page is cached, but when it is not cached, page load is lik 9-10 seconds! And it still breaks certain layouts.
So I am really at a loss on how to combine and minify the js and css. What would you suggest?

Hey,
1. You can set the background size to cover with css like this:

.wrap.contentclass {
    background-size: cover !important;
}

2. You can hide the header. Are you staying you don’t want to logo or site name either? Is this for all pages?

3. You can control it with css like this:

.topbarmenu ul li a {
color:blue;
}

it’s a little more complicated if you need to change the search placeholder text. Are you wanting that changed too?

4. Looks like in your woocommerce settings > products > display you changed the thumbnail size to 180. Change it back to 90 or smaller.

I’m working on a site and want to change the title color in the visual editor widget, but I can’t find the right CSS to change in the individual widget. I’d like the title to be white over a colored background. Also, I’d like to change the bullet characters to white as well. The page is here.

Hmm..not sure why you wouldn’t be able to enable the icon menu. Did you already create/customize icons? Can you post a link to your site?
Yes, you can set your page up as a static page and also use the homepage layout manager.

I have the same problem but this solution doesn´t work for me and I don´t know why.

I want that the images in my home page just crop in the width. I mean, I don´t want them to make zoom. Is it possible that the image just adapt the widht to the box and the height keep relative to the widht?

Sorry to have to bother you again but I can’t work this one out. I’ve built a site for someone and I’m struggling with how the image width of an image menu item is determined:

You’ll see that I’ve set the strap to be full-width and centered. Everything works until we collapse to one column and then the image isn’t as wide as the container. Regardless of what height I set for the menu items, and the size/aspect ratio of the source image, I end up with an image at 559px wide.

Looking at the URL of the image suggests that it’s being generated at that width by your template so I’m not sure if this can be changed.

I *could* probably use a media query at set max-width of the strap to 559px but that feels like a workaround rather than a fix, and in truth I’d like to understand what’s going on.

1920 x1200 is the ideal max image size per theme punch for “web friendly” image sizes. Re-sized a picture to play with the settings. Theme options> advanced styling> upload the main content background image and I get what is on the site now. Tiles or repeats twice. any suggestions?

Is there a way to disable the header all together and move those menu items to the top bar. I’m sure I can add icons to the top bar; link them to other pages, and make it transparent. That I have no issues with.. I guess turning off the header if it’s possible would be my question.

I have the apple website in mind behind the turning off the header. The top bar above the slider is cool but it looks good under the slider too. I won’t be picky.

I have an issue with Virtue Premium at http://www.chicagolandwatersolutions.com where I have picture borders off set to On, and Chrome is the only browser of the big three showing the site and picture borders at all. I added the CSS line: td { border: 1px solid #C0C0C0; } to shore up a table border issue disappearing in all browsers, but while the table borders look fine in Chrome, Firefox, and IE., only Chrome shows all the borders (picture, site, and table) correctly. I’m really weary of this…HELP?!

Pricing is for resellers only and I want new customers to register first and wait for me to approve them before they are allowed to enter the site further. Does your theme’s built in registration and login have these options, or do I have to fine a plugin to use?

You are right, it does work if I place the css ” .is sticky .headerclass … ” in the Theme Options -> Custom css via the admin panel.
But why is it not working when I place it in the style.css of the child theme? Every other change I made in the style.css was properly reflected in my site.
I thought they (the style.css of a child and the custom css from the admin) were affecting the theme the same way but obviously not.
I would hate to have css modifications in 2 places. What should I do for that line of code to work inside my child theme files?
