Hello,

Great theme! Is there a way to set the number of default portfolio columns on the homepage? I’m hoping to have 2 equal rows of 3 columns on my site. Can the boxes change size dynamically to accommodate this?

Hi Ben,

I’m not using W3 Cache, and I’ve disabled Sitegrounds Supercacher plugin and disabled caching server side. I think the issue may have started either when I used WP Optimze to optimize core tables, or when I updated the theme.

I’ve enabled Cloudflare, but the problem had been happening before that was even set up. I’ve tried flushing http://www.entertainmentoverdose.co.uk/kad-slider/home/ using Cloudflare in case, but that didn’t fix.

I’m just using the standard WordPress and Virtue theme for JS. Could uninstalling the slider and downloading the plugin again fix? In which case can I export the slider beforehand so I don’t lose all of the slides/colors/fonts etc, or will the sliders remain when I uninstall ? Or are there any kad-slider.js files I can flush in Cloudflare that might fix the problem?

For my site I am using “Sitename Logo Font”, no logo image. I have a Tagline set up in WP although it does not show on my site. Do I need to add custom css and if so what would that be. Doing a site this way and making it responsive would be very tricky. I can’t really help much more then to say you should use the revolution slider. Set the site to fullwidth fullscreen. That is the only way you will get the links in the background but making the slider a background with content on top is not possible. So basically I’ll put it this way. You can’t have a background with links that is responsive. You can do that with a slider but it won’y be a background.

2. That css is very broad and is not good, if you need it you need to make it more specific to where you need it.

Hey David,
If you are caching the front page then the mobile slider function won’t run to check if the browser is a mobile browser or not. If you are using a plugin like w3 total cache you can turn off the page caching for the home page so that function runs to see what the browser is.

Looking at your site right now in desktop the slide is not being initiated. Which is likely an issue with one of your js caching plugins or a delayed loading. Hard to know but I can see that the sliders JS isn’t being run which is the issue. What are you using for the JS.

There’s probably a simple answer to this, but how do I allow comments on blog posts only? I see that I can activate “comments on page” in the theme options -> page options menu, but I’d like to have the comments apply only to blog posts. Thanks!

Also – related but slightly different – I’d like to make it so that the “half price lunch” badge at the top right of the screen disappears when viewed on a small screen (as it looks strange when the responsive layout alters & it breaks onto the next row). Is there a way to do this?

One slight problem though. When I activate my child theme the Main1 menu (primary) does not show and my social icons on my top bar are gone.

I have disabled all plugins individually and no luck so far.

Thanks for quick feedback. I know it’s a bit confusing what I explained earlier. Let me explain in other way. I have 4 main types

In the type 2 i have another 4 subtypes

For types 1,2,3,4 i have an image assigned
For subtypes 5,6,7,8 i don’t have an image assigned

When i open my main product page (as a portfolio type grid) i want to see only types 1,2,3,4 like here

Right now on this page are displayed all the types and subtypes, but are visible only types with a image assigned. Because of this the pictures are not aligned right, because of subtypes without image assigned

When i click on type 1 i want to open another page with all the portfolio assigned to type 1, like i managed to obtain here.

When i click on type 2 (who has subtypes) i want to open another page with all the portfolio assigned to subtypes 5,6,7,8 and to be able to filter, like i managed to obtain here.

I can’t managed to link together all the pages. When i click from here http://www.mcarservice.ro/portfolio/ to the picture with bolts (type 2 from the example) it opens all the portfolio but without filtering option.

It would be ok for me to display the main portfolio page, on a page with images from gallery, arranged in 2 columns, with link to my portfolio types. If i use a gallery template i don’t have the option to put a link to another page on the image. There must be a way to do that.

Also if i can hide the price and “add to cart” button from shop product list would be ok for me to add the products and categories to the shop and to organize them from there.

In the end i want to obtain the functionality from this section of the site.

On the page you mentioned are all the portfolio items, but mixed from all the types and subtypes. I don’t want that. I want to show only the 4 main types and from there to enter in each type to see more.

I managed to create a page with portfolio grid temlate, and portfolio work type – one of type i created who have subtypes. Thanks! Looks like it was actually a couple of featured images causing the problem. I’ve just inherited this site and the images are really large. Could that cause an issue?

I have bulk deactivated all plugins and still no joy, tried deactivating and re-enabling Kadence slider too.

Edit: When I switch ‘Use Mobile Slider’ on and use a Flexslider, it still tries to display the standard Kadence slider. I’m using Siteground Cloud hosting with static and dynamic cache, have tried flushing both, even switching it off, still no difference.
