Somehow, I have added a “Privacy & Cookies” pop-up to my website, and I’ve looked high and low for this setting to correct the link to my privacy policy, and I can’t find it. Is this a theme option or should I be looking in another plugin?

Dear Sir or Madam

My client is asking me to put some gif text in between the logo and main menu, in order to fill the big white space. I did use the Advanced Styling, Header background, Upload background image or texture, and made adjustment of x image placement, y image placement option to make the text fit in between the logo and the menu, however, it is centred, but it covers the menu text. Could you please help me to make the adjustment for the rolling text to be fitted within the white space? Or is there a script that I can place within the advanced styling section?

Anyway to the point there are still some things I’m used to being able to do with a Virtue Premium site that I can’t seem to replicate yet such as getting at the list of shortcodes easily as there was a drop down list in the editor as well as many widgets I could just insert and configure.

The actual question – I’m trying to install a Testimonial carousel on to the home page and not sure the best way to get there please can you advise, I used to either use the Virtue: Testimonial Carousel or a shortcode.

At the top of a gallery page that was created by a site search, the word “Yarn” appears as the heading. I’m using a plugin to filter the results. Both the filter and the search are based on custom taxonomies rather than basing the searches on Categories. What would I need to do to replace the word Yarn with whatever was entered as ### search terms (if any) + filters applied? This link will show you want I’m referring to.

My categories display as links at the tops of galleries, or pages created by site searches. I’d like for those links not to display there. Where can I disable that?

Hi Hannah,
The code you gave me works very well so thank you very much for helping me out on that one!
But is there a possibility to reduce the space between the menu items? Because now my menu shows two rows.

Also I need to put a phone number in the top bar on the right side.And I can only see the possibility of putting just the logo on the left side but nothing on the right.

Which version of the theme are you using? There are fallbacks within the theme to get to our servers so if it’s a firewall it would be on your hosts part not allowing wp-remote-get. Can you send me a login to your site?

Hi Loren,
I’m getting a fatal error when visiting your site. Looks like the allotted memory size has been reached. You should contact your host and have them increase your php memory settings. It’s possible that that is also playing a role in your slider not displaying when adding a shortcode to a text widget.

And in part because random can be really offputting and confusing to someone visting your site expecting to see what they saw the first time and not seeing it.

I would click on “all pages” and then “published” to see my real pages, rather than just clicking on “all pages”. I’m going overboard on the efficient thing when I am doing a lot of page editing in the early stages of developing the site.

Random is probably not something we’ll add to the Kadence Slider. Random itself is not really something I would advise for many reasons. I would even go so far as to convince a client it’s not a smart move. In part because of how caching works and how important caching is for performance. WPengine one of the leading WordPress hosting companies turns off all random queries by default in WordPress because of the performance hit. And in part because random can be really offputting and confusing to someone visting your site expecting to see what they saw the first time and not seeing it.

I think if you are interested in implementing something anyway I would suggest using css to define a background for a page title or “slider” area where you just set some height. Then using javascript you could change the class “randomly” and depending on the class the image background would change.

I need to remove the Virtue Demo pages and content that I am not use so that they don’t get in the way when I click “all pages” and so that they don’t show up in searches. But I would like to retain them somewhere, because I am going to be evolving the site over the coming months and like seeing the demo layouts and content.

Is there an easy way of doing that? I was think I could move them to trash, and then never delete the trash, but I was wondering if there is a more reliable, or permanent way of keeping those demo pages in safe, but out of the way, place.

Exactly. We can apply a title background on pages, posts and also on categories. It might be nice to have the ability to set one for all archives as well. The default title background is useful, but sometimes we may want archives to have something other than the overall site default, such as what we are using on our general blog page. Also I don’t see a way to turn on parallax for the default title background like you can on most other title backgrounds, or did I miss it?

I’m not sure I understand what you imported? hopefully you didn’t try to run the importer on a site with content.
