Hi,
I think we’ll switch to ShortPixel then.
By the way, is ShortPixel’s WebP-Support also supported by Virtue? Do you use or can recommend it? I am asking on
https://blog.shortpixel.com/how-webp-images-can-speed-up-your-site/ it says:UPDATE – Direct solution: Now you can use the WebP format by simply checking the corresponding “Generate WebP markup” option in the advanced settings tab of Short Pixel and all your
tags will be replaced with <picture> tags that include also the .webp images, thus letting the browser chose the best version according to its capabilities. The <picture> tag contains also anGenerate WebP markup tag for fallback reasons, thus also allowing the styles to remain in place. In some rare cases – when the styling of your images relies on positional querries ( :first, :nth-child selectors or “>” direct child reference ) you might encounter style problems when activating this option and you will need to use the cache plugin solution below.
and, well, replacing
<img>markup withpicturedoes sound like something where a lot of CSS and also the lazy-loading stuff could go wrong? In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: No pages after installing Wanderlust Content
In forum: Virtue ThemeGood afternoon,
I would like to know if it’s possible to link a KT Gallery image to another page. I have this gallery shortcode:
[gallery type=carousel imgwidth="500" imgheight="400" columns=4 link="file" ids="408,409,410,411,412,413,414,415,416,417,418,419"]
Right now it links the images to the mediafile, but i would like to link each image to a specific page on the website.
The website is http://www.goldmanoptiek.nl and on the homepage you see two gallery carrousels with images of (sun)glasses brands. They need to link to specific fitting rooms pages on the website. The theme is a bit modified by another webdeveloper, so it’s very helpful to know if this is even possible.
I’m looking forward hearing from you.
Thank you!

Hi
Recently a Pagebuilder page on my site has started behaving differently. Three equal grid rows used to fit on one line but for some reason the padding between them is now pushing them onto 2 rows and they dont scale down. They each contain Virtue images.
I didn’t change anything at all before this began happening.
Can you help? Link on next post.
Thanks

In forum: Ascend ThemeHi,
I have created a full width stretched row with two columns with background images which work perfectly on desktop.
When viewing on mobile there seems to be a gutter between the columns when they collapse vertically on mobile. Am I missing this option somewhere?Dev site is aquaclinic.simplysitetest.co.uk
Thanks
Hi,
our website is setup that on the startpage (front / home) the most recent blog excerpts are shown. Settings under Mainpage layout is:
(Notice the enabled “Aktuelle Blog Eintraege” on the right bottom)
and then:
This section only becomes visible when the user scrolls down. This gives a nice visual effect, but the problem is that it also means that Google does not index this.
I became aware of this problem by using Google Search Console and its ‘Fetch as Google’ feature. Here’s a screenshot on how google sees/indexes our frontpage. Notice that the whole blog section on the startpage is missing:
*Login to see linkThis is done by going to *Login to see link and then enter the URL and ‘Fetch and Render’.
I guess you cannot (are not allowed to fetch our website in Google search console), but you can probably reproduce using *Login to see link as URL which also has a blog section.
Question is whether one could make the blog section a) either always to appear and not only on scroll or b) do things differently for useragent Google Bot (always show for it like LazyLoad for lazyloading images in a SEO friendly way does). I could not find an option for this.

Thank you for the great news Ben!
I too consider that a lot more should be done in Browsers and actually the options are there but people are ignorant and are not using them. As for the IP, it seems that the biggest concern of the EU lawmakers is that a Website sends the IP automatically to third party services before the visitor had a chance to give consent… and they get a crisis if this information gets out of the EU – this is why Google-Services are targeted first.
If you could think of a way that prevents the map to send visitor information (or if, then anonymized) to Google, then you could actually let the map load, but i don’t know if that is technically possible, i’m just brainstorming ideas.

June 16, 2018 at 10:25 pm #193287One thing if you copied the site it can help to go through the deactivate steps to clear the database for the API then reactivate.
Also can you tell me what version of the theme you are using?
Ben

June 16, 2018 at 10:23 pm #193286Hey,
You shouldn’t have any problem you can activate on more than one site. What is the error you are getting when you try to activate?Ben

June 16, 2018 at 10:14 pm #193285Thanks for your suggestion B. Anders. I recently implemented Google ReCaptcha plugin with an option that allows you to only load the scripts if you have user consent, I’ve been thinking about something similar with embedded content like youtube videos, google maps etc.
I mostly think this whole thing about an IP address being private data would get fixed eventually since an IP is not private and no law can make it private for the web to work as it does else consent would have to be controlled in the browsers where the browser wouldn’t allow you to access a site until you gave consent for your IP address to be recorded since it’s recorded on every server you access.
But regardless I am considering a plugin for this, I have another plugin coming out this week that has to do with elementor and then I will be addressing this hopefully before the end of the month.
I think for the embedded content I am thinking of an optional background image that is overlayed so you can have a map image that is blurred or overlayed with semi-transparent white and the text and button for consent so it’s not just a blank gray box.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, our main website is running Virtue Premium at conversari.com. We’re currently redesigning the website, and we have a sandbox development version on a subdomain (multilingual.conversari.com). The API key we’re using for the root domain doesn’t work for activating the theme on the subdomain, but without activating the theme, the site under developmment is totally broken. At the same time, I can’t deactivate the theme API key on the live site. What can we do?
In forum: Ascend ThemeIs it possible to have two blog pages… one with every other topic; and one dedicated to one topic (that doesn’t show posts from the other blog page)?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Pinnacle page load time and image requests
June 15, 2018 at 5:26 pm #193237Hey,
I’m not seeing that you have images downloading multiple times, although it does seem to fail it’s first try. (what plugins are you running)I do see that you need to optimize your images right now your site size is 6.2 MB and you want that closer to 1mb.
Check out this post: https://www.kadencewp.com/best-practices-for-images-sizes-and-optimization-in-wordpress/
You also don’t seem to be running caching? That is super important check out this post:
https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/
If you are just wanting a simple slider you might just use the built in one rather then loading cyclone, using less plugins always helps.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I’ve been running pingdom speed tests on our Pinnacle based website and it appears that during browser rendering, many image files are being requested and downloaded multiple times from the server, particularly from the homepage carousel. This is slowing the page load time. *Login to see link
I realise this question may be beyond the scope of the theme but is there a way to stop the multiple requests? Are there other things I can do to speed up the response time of this Pinnacle based site?
Kind regards,
Michael -
