Topic: W3C Error
October 2, 2021 at 3:35 am #268185hi.
i use a KB Row-Layout in a widget area.
the markup is something like that:<aside id="block-3" class="widget widget_block"><link rel='stylesheet' id='kadence-blocks-rowlayout-css' href='***********/wp-content/plugins/kadence-blocks/dist/blocks/row.style.build.css?ver=2.1.13' media='all' />
<style id='kt-blocks_a9ddf2-0a-inline-css' type='text/css'>
#kt-layout-id_a9ddf2-0a > .kt-row-column-wrap{padding-top:0px;padding-bottom:0px;}
</style>The W3C-Error is: Element style not allowed as child of element aside in this context. (Suppressing further errors from this subtree.)
Please can you check this?
Best regardsIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Just Frustrated!
Simply trying to freshen the look of our site and thought I’d try to move away from the classic editor since this block design thing doesn’t seem to be going away. I’ve got to say, block design layout is horrible. I simply want to add an image right aligned in a paragraph of text, but for the life of me, I can’t find a block that allows this. I’ve been working with Virtue Premium since 2014 or 15 and it’s been awesome. This, however makes me want to pull my hair out. Nothing like making something simple overly complicated. Block design is far too restrictive. Can’t figure out who thinks this is a good idea. People are used to working with “Word” type interfaces with a few shortcodes/widgets, not pre-designed chunks of stuff. Sorry. I have loved Kadence and WordPress for a long time, but this is crazy making.

Hello Pascal,
Upon checking, those are inside the 4th widget in your Footer Column 1 widget area. Here’s a screen recording of how you can find them – https://share.getcloudapp.com/kpunj5WY.
If you need further help to find the widget, you could give us temporary admin access to your website by using this plugin and send us the login link here in a private reply.
Hope this helps and do let us know if we can assist you further.

KarlaIn forum: Ascend ThemeHello Mike,
Kindly add this in Theme Options > Custom CSS to fix the spacing of the links you have on the header:
header .sf-menu .textwidget a { padding: 5px 0 0; }This is how it should look like after saving the changes – https://share.getcloudapp.com/4gulgj7p.

KarlaIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Featured image in a sidebar
Hello,
There is no built-in function for this.
But you can achieve this by creating a shortcode.
Here is the code for creating the shortcode: https://pastebin.com/PDRNnEM2
You can add this using the code snippets plugin: https://kadence-theme.com/knowledge-base/advanced/how-to-add-a-custom-filter-or-function-with-code-snippets/
Then, you can add the shortcode
[featured_image]on the sidebar using Text Widget or Shortcode block.Hope this helps.

BonnIn forum: Ascend ThemeI’m using a header layout with a logo in the center and extras to either side on this site. I have the Header Extras Widget Area right justified and the Header Extra Widgets Area (Second) left justified, but the items in these widgets are still pretty broadly spaced from the logo in the center. While I don’t want them tight to the logo, I’d like to know if there’s a way I can move each a little closer toward the logo.
Thanks much!

Yes Hanna, I want to get rid of what I circled in red, but I cant find it in Appearance>Widgets. It might be in the Custom CSS box but I am not sure.

Thanks for sharing the video. Looks like the page isn’t loading properly after assigning it as your blog.
One thing that may help is going to Settings> Permalinks and resaving them after you assign the page as your blog. Does that make a difference?
An alternative way to configure your posts page is to use a Kadence Blog Grid/Carousel widget instead of the default blog template. The posts will appear the same, you just wont be assigning the post page.
If you’d like, you can share a login link within a private reply and we can take a look in the admin of your site to see if anything obvious needs to be changed. You can use this plugin:

Thanks,
KevinIn forum: Ascend ThemeHi K-Team,
I am having an issue with pages getting a “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions” message when saving/updating pages. I have increased memory limit, deactivated all plugins etc. and have the same issue. I then turned on debug display and log and am seeing this message at the top of the page – “Deprecated: media_buttons_context is deprecated since version 3.5 0! Use media_button instead”
I have attached a pdf of the log. It shows the deprecation message which then get followed by Ascend image widget errors.
I am not sure on how to fix this.
Thanks

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Product sort dropdown colours…
September 9, 2021 at 6:48 pm #267789Sorry for my slow reply Bonn… I actually figured that out just as you suggested, but forgot to come back and say so.
Turns out the tweaks I made in the off canvas filter widgets, is what had turned the text on the product sorting dropdown to a light colour, which lead me to finding the background colour css, and… ended up with the same solution as you.
Sincerely appreciate your assistance, tho. 🙂
In forum: Ascend ThemeI’m using the Header Widgets Area (Second) to include a vertical menu in my header. The type in this menu is H5 which looks fine…until I activate the links. The the type both shifts to the right and gains spacing between each line. I’m attaching a graphic to show this.
I’ve gotten around it by defining a similar font type using H3 but with an abnormally low vertical spacing, 3 I believe. This achieves what I’m after but it also burns one of my 5 available header types which may or may not be an issue as I continue to develop this site. I’ll include a graphic for that as well.
Thanks Hannah! How’s the Auntie gig going??
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: New footer row collapse layout for mobile?
September 9, 2021 at 1:46 am #267762Re: Chris’ question (which I now no longer can view in this thread…?):
The block that is not aligning with the rest of the centred widget is a non-Kadence block (perhaps why it’s not being centre, which would be a different bug itself for the theme).
But if we can get to a layout with the Middle column at 100% width, splitting the other two columns – I wouldn’t want column 1 to be centred.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: use Rev Slider in place of logo
Hello,
There is no built-in option to replace the Logo with a slider.
What I would recommend is selecting the Logo Left Widget Layout in Theme Options > Main Settings > Logo Layout (Standard Header only) option. Then, add the slider shortode in Appearance > Widgets > Home Widget Area. Finally, add a custom CSS code to hide the logo column and make the widget area for the slider take the full width of the header row:
.kad-header-left { display: none; } .kad-header-widget { width: 100%; }Here’s a screen recording of how I set it up on my test website for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAunjpLv.
Hope this helps.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence ThemeSeptember 8, 2021 at 7:45 am #267733Added copyright widget to “below footer” area. Added html links too, so that it looks something like this:
“Copyright 2021 My Company – Privacy | Terms | Linking | Affiliate Disclosure”
Looks good except that it stacks too tight on mobile. I need to increase the line height, except this widget is the rare one that does not offer a line height setting. How to fix, please?
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: New footer row collapse layout for mobile?
September 8, 2021 at 1:27 am #267727Hi,
First, can support personnel please stop treating their paying customers like idiots, and perhaps actually read our queries before presuming we simply don’t know how to use your theme? Thanks.
Yes, that’s where the options to change the column breakdown are at for the footer (The same as the desktop/tablet/mobile breakdowns in row layout block). It’s where I’ve set them multiple times. But that wasn’t my question, not is it even an answer to my question because as the title of my query clearly notes, we need a new layout option for mobile. Which I pretty clearly spelled out. Nor can I “provide a screenshot” – because it currently cannot be done with the current layout choices. However, since the support team deals with simplicity:
CSS flex can probably sort this out – if I can successfully adjust the correct class. AND that same class isn’t used anywhere else. (Since most of my prior attempts to tweak css have been chided for creating issues such as that…) But given that a 3 column footer (or header, or row layout) is a rather common design layout, adding a tablet/mobile layout that includes featuring the middle column first at 100% would be beneficial more than just on one site. In fact, I would benefit from the solution on all of my sites.
Nor is the alignment issue simply “change the alignment to centre” – as I noted, that was already selected. Both in the middle row, Widget 1 alignment settings as well as within WP’s Footer 1 Widget block itself. One block in the widget will not centre, yet the others are. (Which is also shown my site, url already provided… did you actually to take a look?) But the alignment issue would easily resolved if the layout is implemented as I would need it to remain aligned left.

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
You can select the column layout for Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile views. Additionally, on each of the widget items, there is also an option to change the content alignment for the three device views. Here’s a screen recording for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/p9ukQnQo.
If I misunderstood, could you send us screenshots of how you would like it on mobile views?
Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence ThemeSeptember 4, 2021 at 11:03 pm #267656On my one site (currently in staging) *Login to see link , I’m having a bit of a struggle with the footer. The middle row has three columns, and I’m using Widget 1, Widget 2, and Widget 3 WP core areas to add the inner content.
The issue is with the mobile settings, specifically row collapse layout & order. Right now, it’s set for three vertical 100% rows. Which would work… except a block within Widget 1 is NOT centering like the rest of the widget contents. (it’s a non Kadence block, so I’m trying to figure a way to target & tweak that with CSS… if I can resolve that, then this issue may be moot.)
However, the entire issue would be resolved if there was a layout for MIDDLE ROW 100%, with the left & right at 50% below (or even above) the other two. Nearly identical to the current First Row 100% & 50/50 split layout, or the reverse Last Row 100% & 50/50 split. I don’t know Customiser at all, so not even sure where to begin to target this myself within my child theme.
The reason I’m wanting this is because I have a navigation menu on the left, social media icons on the right, and a subscribe box in the middle. I feel this is a layout option that many other users could benefit from as well because it allows us to focus on the middle column first/last.
After another look, it’s also something that actually could benefit ALL mobile layouts, ie Row Layout Blocks even – not just within the footer! (I can submit a feature request for that, if that would help)
Thanks!
In forum: Ascend ThemeSince I can’t add a navigation menu to my Secondary Header Widget my idea was to create a vertical menu by simply placing a Visual Editor wdidget in this space and creating my menu. This worked well as you can see HERE, but when I activate the links to the pages it creates spacing between each line that not only looks awkward but pushes the menu outside the boundaries of my header.
Is there anyway to activate these links and suppress this spacing? I’d like the text to basically look exactly like it does when it’s not hyperlinked.
Or perhaps you can suggest an alternate implementation for what I’m trying to accomplish?
Thanks for any help!
