    In reply to: Hide sidebar scrollbar

    #268709

    Hello,

    Thank you for giving a link to an example.

    In the example you provided, the sidebar will not stick all throughout. Once it reaches a certain scroll position within the content, the sidebar will scroll too.

    This is currently not the behavior of the sticky sidebar in the Kadence Theme. The sidebar will stick all the time but if you want your sidebar to somehow be similar to your example, you can enable the Only Stick Last Widget option – https://share.getcloudapp.com/4guP9NeG.

    Lastly, if you want a sticky sidebar option exactly like the one from your example, you can log a feature request on this page. However, please note that we cannot give an ETA of when that will be added as the development team considers certain factors before implementing new ones.

    Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

    Best Regards,
    Karla

    Hi!

    I am using the Ascend: Icon Flip Box widget here:

    But whenever I match up the height on one screen, if I move to another screen the sizes are mismatched again.
    Can you advise how I fix this so it is responsive?

    #268679

    Thanks, but I can not get it to work.

    I added this css to code snippets:

    /* SEARCH BAR */
    .site-main-header-inner-wrap {
    grid-template-columns: auto 60% auto;
    }
    .site-header-main-section-center .header-widget-area-inner {
    width: 100%;
    }
    .dgwt-wcas-search-wrapp {
    max-width: 100%;
    }

    Then I placed the widgets in main row: Logo – Search Bar – Cart trigger

    No change.

    I am using the FiboSearch widget as a widget in the center column of the main row.
    Settings for FiboSearch is set to width: 100%

    Hello,

    A sticky sidebar will make the sidebar stay in a fixed position and so if you have a lot of widgets and the content goes beyond the screen height, it needs to have a scroll bar to indicate you have more content.

    You’ve mentioned “I want the content to be overflowed. Just like blocksy theme.“. Could you send a page URL with that example so we can have a better idea of what you want to achieve?

    Kind Regards,
    Karla

    #268665

    Hello,

    First, please put the widget header item in a separate column so the total columns of that header row are 3 – https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQu7gAdE.

    Then, add this in Customizer > Additional CSS:

    .site-main-header-inner-wrap {
        grid-template-columns: auto 60% auto;
    }
    .site-header-main-section-center .header-widget-area-inner {
        width: 100%;
    }
    .dgwt-wcas-search-wrapp {
        max-width: 100%;
    }

    Regards,
    Karla

    Hi, I am using Fibosearch, I want the searchfield to be as wide as possible.

    It’s implemented in the header either via a shortcode or via a widget they provide.
    But the header is limiting the length of the input field.

    Is there a way for me to override the other columns (which are blank anyway), so I can do something like this to make it responsive:

    .class {
    width: 100%
    resize: vertical;
    }

    Here is a staging site

    When I add more widgets to the sidebar and make it sticky, a scrollbar appears. I want to hide that scroll bar but still make the sidebar sticky.

    #268590

    Hi Rainer,
    1. There isn’t a built-in function for this. You can add a search block or widget to the content area of your shop page it will appear above the products. Would this work for you?

    2. You can reduce the spacing with css like this:

    nav#nav-main {
        margin-top: 10px;
    }

    Hope it helps!

    Best,
    Hannah

    Hi Karla,
    Thanks for the answer and it worked as expected. Now, I can see the colors inside elementor widgets, wherever there is a color control. How can I remove that too, please?

    #268471

    Hey,
    Widgets are a mess right now between if you made them in classic or not and based on which widgets you are using. usually accessing from the appearance > widgets page instead of the customizer will be your best bet.

    Could be related to database corruption?

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/widget-editor-customizer-are-broken/

    #268445

    I have a site where the Customizer does not show the content of the footer widgets.

    The Page Editor knows that it is a footer, because when I select to hide the footer, the entire footer, the row of 4 widgets, is hidden on the page.

    The CSS seems to be identifying the widgets as well, 1 through 4.

    It’s just that the Customizer is not acknowledging the footer widgets when one tries to edit them.

    Is there some way to start over, to create a new footer, to move the existing widgets to the new footer, to do some kind of reset that makes Kadence look for orphan widgets, something?

    #268443

    I am currently moving my website to a new host and have tried to recreate the sidebar widget which included two RSS feeds. The new block editor does not appear to have an option to give the RSS feed a title and display the RSS icon that I previously had on my old site. Any advice on how to achieve yjis would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    The Mobile off-canvas area also has the ability to contain other header items – https://share.getcloudapp.com/o0u7BeK5.

    I cannot explain from the developer/designer’s perspective but I believe the reason why the toggle widget area item/widget items are not included in the tablet/mobile header builder is to avoid having too much content inside it. Since mobile devices are smaller, it is better to limit the elements being used.

    For now, I can send a note of your feedback to the development team so they can check and further advise.

    Kind Regards,
    Karla

    #268399

    It’s odd that this feature is not implemented. Frankly it is only to add the possibility to add the “Toggle Widget Area” to the Mobile view, everything else is there!
    In my opinion this is not a “please submit a feature request”-type of thing, it’s more like: “Oh, I didn’t think about that, let me take 3 minutes out of my time and add it, and it will be available in the next release”.

    Hi. Thanks for your quick answer!

    Unfortunately, the site is not launched yet. I’m working locally.
    I’ve set up a CodePen project. Will it work for you?
    Find it at https://codepen.io/AlbertMargeli/pen/RwZbwoK
    Needs some more styling but you’ll get the idea.
    That’s exactly the code I’m inserting as an HTML widget in the Kadence header customizer off canvas area.

    I’ve inserted this code as an HTML widget in a regular page and it works fine.
    Only breaks when using it in the off canvas.

    Find below the code that is actually rendered by the browser, if it’s of some help.
    You’ll see that the FORM and the SVGs have vanished.

    Thakns alot.

    Hi Mitchell,

    Thank you for contacting us! Hope you’re having a great day!

    I believe the best way to accomplish this is going to be using Hooked Elements. Rather than building your sidebar in the widgets area, go to Kadence Elements, and create your side bar as an Element. If you’re unfamiliar with Kadence Elements, please take a moment to read the post below to learn how it works:
    https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/pro-addon/how-to-use-element-hooks/

    Then assign it to replace the sidebar on your tag archives, as shown in the screenshot below:
    https://share.getcloudapp.com/ApuEBjkx

    Does that option work for you?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi.

    Trying to fully customize mobile off canvas inserting my own code as HTML widget.
    Everything works fine except the form and the SVGs I’d like to include, that simply don’t display.
    They don’t even show up in the working website code when I check.

    A ‘search the site” form should appear on the blueish background of the attached pic.
    And the social icons of the bottom are IMGs, since I’m not able to make them work as SVGs.

    Any reason for that?

    Thanks

    Albert

    Thanks Karla, Just venting. I’m not fond of this new method for designing and maintaining WP sites. Unfortunately, I’ll have to learn to roll with it, because the use of classic editor seems to be causing issues with widgets on our current “classic” site. I expect, as time moves on, use of classic editor will continue to cause more problems.
