I found the Problem. I was too stupid.
I wanted to set the animations per row (via “Edit row”), but this is not possible.
You have to set the animation per widget.

    Hey Rainer,
Can you leave the css in so that we can see why this might not be working, it seems more likely that you need to clear the cache after adding it.

I still recommend using our Kadence Theme, the toggle to widget area is now part of the beta release.

    Hello,

You should be able to create the sidebar as outlined above in Theme Options > Misc which registers it with the theme and you will see it in the Appearance > Widgets area. From there you should be able to drag the widgets into the sidebar you just created and the settings should stay true.

I just tried this locally and it did work, but again, make sure you take a backup so you don’t lose any settings should anything happen or not work as expected.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I have this theme in several sites and this is the first site to display this behaviour.
When I try to expand any widget location I get no reaction. I also cannot drag any widgets to the widget areas.

When I navigate to the widget area, the only one expanded is Primary sidebar – I cannot close this one or open any other ones. Its like they are not reacting to mouse interaction.
There is data in the footer columns as well as the other widget areas as they were working previously.
The site has been updated to latest theme version, I cannot expand the theme details either.
I was thinking of adding a new theme, deleting Ascend and reinstalling but have so many products I don’t want to lose them or have to set up the menus again.

    regards
    Andy

I am getting this message in debug mode:

Deprecated: wp_make_content_images_responsive is deprecated since version 5.5.0! Use wp_filter_content_tags() instead. in /home/xxxxx/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4773

I have narrowed it down to when the following are activated:
    – Ascend Premium theme (or child theme) – if I switch to TwentyTwenty (but keep plugins active) the error disappears
    – Site Origin Page Builder (2.11.2)
    – Site Origin Widgets Bundle (1.17.5) – if this is deactivated (with Ascend Premium active), the error disappears

No error if all other plugins are activated with Ascend.

Could you please have a look and see what might need adjusting?
    Thanks

    Hey John,
There isn’t a default function to create new sidebars from Appearance > Widgets so perhaps you’re using a plugin that is adding that function? I suggest doing what Chris mentioned and creating a new sidebar from Theme Options > Misc Settings, then configure the content from Appearance > Widgets. Does this work for you?

    Hi Chris,

No, I think I created my custom Sidebars from the Appearances>Widgets page, where there is an option to create a new Sidebar at the top. All of my sidebars were created this way. My two main sidebars are called “Blog Sidebar” and “Tours Sidebar”, but neither of these show up in the various places where one wants to select a theme sidebar. Instead only the following are listed “Primary, sidebar1, Footer 1, Footer 2, Footer 3, Footer 4.”

    How to change this?

    Best, John

    Hey,
I logged into your site and checked your top-rated-earbuds post, I noticed that the posts was in classic editor mode and not in site origin page builder mode. That seems to be your main issue.

When working with site origin pagebuilder you can’t click out of the pagebuilder editor into the classic editor and then click back. So really there isn’t a time when you should ever click from pagebuilder into the editor. Does that make sense? You have to build in the site origin builder and not leave.

If you can rebuild that post in the pagebuilder editor I can help with any settings for the split content widget.

    Hello,

How did you create/add the blog sidebar? Was this performed in Theme Options> Misc Settings? This sidebar name should show up in the page (Sidebar Settings) and post (Post Settings) creation/edit pages.

You would then go to Appearance> Widgets to configure the sidebar.

    Thanks!

    Hi Tricia,
The Header Builder will be getting a lot of add on’s with Kadence Theme Pro, including a widget area! We hope to have this released in the next couple of weeks. Let me know if there’s anything I can help you with in the meantime.

    All the best,
    Hannah

    Hey,
Here is a good overview: https://wordpress.org/support/article/moving-wordpress/

    Specifically this section:

If you do a search and replace on your entire database to change the URLs, you can cause issues with data serialization, due to the fact that some themes and widgets store values with the length of your URL marked. When this changes, things break. To avoid that serialization issue, you have three options:

Use the Velvet Blues Update URLs or Better Search Replace plugins if you can access your Dashboard.
Use WP-CLI’s search-replace if your hosting provider (or you) have installed WP-CLI.
Use the Search and Replace for WordPress Databases Script to safely change all instances on your old domain or path to your new one. (** only use this option if you are comfortable with database administration ** )

Basically you can’t just run a standard search and replace because of data serialization.

My advice to you is to not do this manually. Use a plugin (there are tons) to transfer a site. A good option I like that is totally free: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

    I hope that helps!

Can you show this to the developer? All of the virtue premium links in wp_options table are still stored in the website that is the sandbox. As soon as we delete the sandbox directory all those links break and the images are gone.

We need an SQL query that updates all the links in the wp_options table.

You can see the problem behavior if you look at the site on Firefox and look at the URL for the links. For example, the links in the image menu are still pointing back to the sandbox. See https://mathengineering.com/ (Right now the sandbox is still up, so you won’t see everything actually broken).

We can’t use the widget you mentioned because the site is already live.

Here is more information from my brother (it’s his site):

    (17175, ‘widget_virtue_calltoaction_widget’, ‘a:3:{i:1;a:0:{}i:2;a:21:{s:5:\”align\”;s:6:\”center\”;s:10:\”btn_target\”;s:5:\”false\”;s:8:\”btn_link\”;s:42:\”http://sandbox.mathengineering.com/contact\”;s:8:\”btn_text\”;s:24:\”Schedule a Consultation \”;s:9:\”btn_color\”;s:7:\”#4f58f2\”;s:14:\”btn_background\”;s:7:\”#efc44f\”;s:16:\”btn_border_color\”;s:0:\”\”;s:10:\”btn_border\”;s:1:\”2\”;s:17:\”btn_border_radius\”;s:1:\”2\”;s:22:\”btn_hover_border_color\”;s:0:\”\”;s:15:\”btn_hover_color\”;s:7:\”#efc44f\”;s:20:\”btn_hover_background\”;s:7:\”#1e73be\”;s:6:\”tcolor\”;s:0:\”\”;s:6:\”scolor\”;s:0:\”\”;s:5:\”tsize\”;i:0;s:5:\”ssize\”;i:0;s:11:\”tlineheight\”;i:0;s:11:\”slineheight\”;i:0;s:5:\”title\”;s:26:\”Find out how we can help: \”;s:8:\”subtitle\”;s:0:\”\”;s:14:\”title_html_tag\”;s:2:\”h1\”;}s:12:\”_multiwidget\”;i:1;}’, ‘yes’),

The problematic part is “s:42:\”http://sandbox.mathengineering.com/contact”. It has both the string and the string length so that when I use MySQL replace function to change the URL to “https://mathengineering.com” everything breaks.

    Thanks,
    Connie

    Hey,
Based on all your posts this isn’t an option with virtue and it’s more then even css is going to get you. Specifically point 2, 3 and 4.

You can do this with our New Kadence Theme. Perhaps that would be a better option? There is a header builder and with pro (coming really soon) there is even an option for a toggle to widget area that would open how you want.

I suggest getting started with the free version here: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/

    Hey There!

I’m working on a site that will have data-driven ozone alerts and a weather widget in the top bar of all pages. My first thought was to create widgets – or probably shortcodes – to do this. But when I look at the customizer for header sections, I don’t see an option to add either to the top bar. I tried dropping {year} into an HTML block as a test, but no luck.

What is the best way for me to add custom coded objects to the site header? Can I add a function to allow shortcodes in the header? Or maybe hook in? Worst case scenario, I suppose I could add the header template into my child theme and customize, but I’d like to avoid this if possible.

    Thanks!

    Hello Hannah,

I’ve employed the Virtue:Gallery widget on this page: with three columns and mosaic options.

For some reason, the photos are displaying all out of proportion. Could you indicate how to fix this?

    Thanks, John

    Hi,
I think there’s a layout bug in Theme settings. I added an image widget to the left-middle row in footer. In the view screen (when viewing mobile view), if you shift-click on the widget to edit the settings panel will look like this – see attached. I’m using Chrome/Windows 10, 1920×1024

    thanks

    Hey,
You would just need to add your logo as an image widget. Have you tried this?
