Hey guys! So, I am transitioning my backpacking site from the free Pinnacle theme to the Premium Ascend theme. I really like the Wanderlust template and would like to set my site up with it, but with a couple minor adjustments. I got into it last night and started tinkering, here are the current results:www.clearwatertrekker.com.
The adjustments I’m trying to make involve the row separators and transparent header for now. I hope you’re ok with a few questions in one post rather than separate forum posts for each item. Here goes.
1) How can I make the header slightly transparent after scrolling, like it appears here: *Login to see link Or maybe that’s not transparent, just not stark white…?
2) How can I add a row separator to the bottom of the Home Page Header? I’d like to place the center double triangle here.
3) If I am to build the home page with Site Builder, what do I do with the Home Page Header and Home Page Layout options in Theme Options? Do I just do everything in Site Builder? If so, do you have detailed instructions on how to recreate the various settings using Site Builder instead of Theme Options?
4) I have been looking through the Ascend documentation for this last question, but I cannot find much more than references to topics like row separators. What I mean is, I watched the video on row separators, so I see how to apply them, but I need to know how to set up my page rows before I can add the separators. I don’t know what settings and/or widgets I’ll need to use in Site Builder to recreate the Wanderlust layout. Where would I put my calendar of events? In a home page widget area?
5) Would I do better to try and work in Site Builder from where I am now? Or should I start over with the Demo Content and try to plug in my images, text, and changes from there?
6) I really like the idea of using videos in my home page header. Can I do this and still use a row separator at the bottom of it?
7) How do I get the text to appear in my header like it does on the wanderlust example page: *Login to see link
8) How do I get the text to be centered vertically in the Image Menu items like it does on your example template?
This is where I am at this point. I appreciate your help!

Hello,
The best way to do this would be to add the posts via shortcode, like this:
[blog_posts orderby=date items=20]Add that to the page content or a text widget in your home widget area, and let me know if it works for you. For more shortcode options, see here:

June 6, 2018 at 9:23 pm #192377How are you wanting this for mobile? You can use css to arrange somethings in the header where you would need a child theme. For example, use the topbar menu and drop that down with css pushing the widget area down.

In forum: Virtue ThemeJune 6, 2018 at 8:30 pm #192370Hi there
I need to rebuild the website: *Login to see link I have made a start with the Virtue Premium theme (not live yet) but in the header I need the widget area (for the awards) and the menu to both be in the right handside area of the header. Will I need a child theme for that? – if so can you please point me in the right direction for doing this. Or is there a better/alternative way that you can suggest.
Thanks very much

June 6, 2018 at 4:06 pm #192341.kad-header-widget { text-align:right; } .kad-header-widget .header-widget-area-header { display:inline-block; padding-left:10px }In your theme options > custom css box add that ^ you can also use the layout widget to build it with columns if you prefer.
As for mobile, you can’t show the widgets if you have the simple mobile header enabled, if you turn that off in your theme options > mobile header then you should be set.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Logo and Widget Header
Hi all, I have a couple of questions.
First, I used the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle so I could make some great buttons; I wanted to add them side by side in the widget area, but I can’t get them to line up even with the Logo.Second, when I was testing in mobile responsiveness (even though they are crooked) they disappear when you move the window to test mobile. So, I was hoping to get the buttons to stay and both go below the header in mobile because that would be great to see those buttons to tap to email or tap to call my local business client.
Thank you. I did find some code on the forum to try, but it did not do anything.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Change header font inside SiteOrigin Editor widget
May 31, 2018 at 10:42 pm #191849Within the editor widget you would need tinymce advnaced : https://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/
Then you can edit the header in the text area and change size and style.

May 31, 2018 at 10:21 am #191744In your widget settings scroll down to where you can see “box height” please make sure your using something like 300 based on all the text you are adding into the areas you may need to increase that.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Footer Menu Sub Items
Hey Smith,
The footer menu is not designed to show the same as the primary and secondary navigations do. You can use a plugin like this if you’d like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/dropdown-menu-widget/ Then you would just need to add your menu as a widget into one of the footer widget areas.
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Full Width Home Page Widget
Hi there
I want to display the vimeo video at the top of the page and I understood the best way to do this was to use the home page widget area. However, I would like to display full-width on the page and remove the white padding between the top of the video and the navigation bar. Can you please advise what I need to do?
Thanks
Ali

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Header widgets in 2 rows
Hello,
You can use as many widgets as you want in the header. If you need more control of the layout, I suggest you use page builder and add a “Layout Builder” widget to the header widget area. Then it will allow you to design the widget layout as you like.
Does that option work for you?

Hi Saskia,
One option would be to use page builder. Either through your home widget area, or into your home static page. If using the widget area, you can add the Layout Builder widget then create a row that is set to full width stretched. Set a background image for the row, then add a blank text widget to the row. Then you can also add top and bottom padding. Would that work for you?Hannah
In forum: Ascend ThemeI’ve found some answers for this regarding Virtue, but none of them seem to work for Ascend. I’ve placed an Ascend Gallery with a 1 column slider in my header extra widgets area on THIS SITE. I’d like to remove the arrows and remove the padding so the images are snug up against the right hand border and the secondary menu. I’d like to remove any top padding as well.
A second question; rather than using a slideshow I considered having a random image of these 5 display each time a page is loaded. Is there something built into Ascend to do this, or would I need a plugin? I tried using the Testimonial Carousel but that put a huge frame around each picture. Perhaps if I could suppress that frame?
Thanks as always for any help you can provide!

Actually, ignore that previous post. Instead, go to Theme Options> Mobile Header, and set “Enable Mobile Top Icon Bar” to ON.
Set “Enable Mobile Top Icon Bar Widget Area” to ON as well, then navigate to Appearance> Widgets, and add the phone information to the mobile topbar widget area.

May 10, 2018 at 9:31 am #189754In your theme options > header settings scroll down to “Header Extras” and there enable the widget area.
Then go to appearance > widgets and add either a text widget or something like the “ascend: info box” widget into the header extras widget area.

In forum: Ascend Themehi,
I’m using the info boxes in layout builder (5 columns in one row/2 in the second) in the homepage widget area. my client sent me a photo that on some computers the description text is running into each other despite each info box being in its own column. Any idea why that would happen/how to fix?. (this is hard for me to test as the bug doesn’t happen on my computers).In forum: Virtue ThemeI would like to remove the white space above the footer at traverse-pc.com
Everything between the slider and the footer is in the home widget area and I have removed any bottom space Layout Builder rows.
I did try the following in Custom CSS but they didn’t work:
#content {
padding-bottom: 0;
}footer#containerfooter {
padding-top: 0;
