    I just bumped into another thing.

    I want to display the ‘Woocommerce Product Category Widget’ in the ‘Header Extra Widget Area (second)’, but it will only show the widget titel. I also tried to show the product categories via a custom menu. The widget area seems to hide all the menu links. Am I doing something wrong here?

    Thanks

    Hi Hannah:

    I have set up the 3 Footer Columns. The top one is just a “Text” widget and the other two are “SiteOrigin Editor”. I do not believe I am using any css to centre anything.
    The Footer areas with just text are both left aligned.
    The Foter area with “For your convenience and the Visa/Mastercard” I have it centred within the widget.

    Not sure when it will go live.

    THanks,
    Jim

    Well, update. I deactivated Black Studio TinyMCE Widget plugin, and I was able to update/edit text on a page. HOWEVER, after the update, the text on the page was wiped out–completely gone–when actually I had just added a word at the beginning of the text area. I also notice Status and Visibility edits are not working on the pages.

    Hey,
    So, you can build the exact icon menu as the home page module using the “virtue shortcodes” button in a visual editor widget of pagebuilder.

    BUT, you can also use the home widget area and add that above the icon menu. Then place your text into the home widget area on your widgets page.

    I hope that helps,

    Ben

    I am using the premium version of Virtue. The elements in the top bar widget are stacking by default. I would like them to display side-by-side. Can you help me with some css to accomplish this? Thanks. Website:

    Hi! I updated from Virtue Free to Virtue Premium, and ran into this issue. Previously my Virtue Social Links Widget in the topbar aligned neatly to the right. Now it is centered on a desktop screen. Within the .kad-topbar-right area, it is aligned left. I tried to adjust the width of the .kad-topbar-right area using CSS from other threads, but this kept the icons centered– As the .kad-topbar-right area kept its leftmost point fixed near the center of my topbar, and reduced size as though it had pulled its right edge in.

    My site is ataokennel.com

    Thanks!

    Hi – I made the mistake of importing Pinnacle demo content after developing my home page the way I wanted it. I thought I would be able to pick and choose demo content; I did not know it would override most of my work. Here is my site:

    So, here are three things I’m currently trying to fix:

    How can I remove the Pinnacle demo widgets? I went into the widget area and tried to drag the widgets to deactivate them, but I can’t seem to drag them.
    My header image is not showing, even though it is uploaded. I’m not sure if some setting is blocking it?
    The site title used to be small & aligned left on one line. Now it is bigger font & spreading out over three lines.

    Also, I don’t know how to insert a screenshot into this forum box or I would :).

    Thanks,
    Maggie

    Is it possible somehow make that they both (slider & images) would change size together and proportion wouldn’t lost.

    No, there isn’t a relationship between the two that would force them to somehow work that way. You would have to manually add CSS for each screen size and make them match.

    Your closest next step would be to add your two items into a layout builder widget. so instead of two columns make it one and add the layout widget there, then add a row with two columns and add your slider and images. In that row, you would turn off column collapse. This would keep the images next to each other. But you will need to redo your css and again your still trying to do something that isn’t intended so it’s not going to fit without you adding css for each area.

    So turns out that only works if using the sidebar on your homepage. Sorry, I think I have made this more complicated than it needs to be.
    Ok, try adding the following shortcode into a text widget within your home widget area.
    [blog_grid orderby=date items=3 columns=3]
    Be sure to enable the home widget area in your homepage layout manager.
    Let me know if you have questions with that!

    Hey Samina,
    Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options:

    .topbar_social_area div#text-3 {
        float: left;
    }
    div#wpcom_social_media_icons_widget-2 {
        width: 50%;
        float: left;
        margin-top: 10px !important;
    }
    .col-md-6.col-ss-6.kad-topbar-left {
        width: 100%;
    }
    div#wpcom_social_media_icons_widget-2 {
        text-align: right;
    }

    Michael,
    Can you please start a new thread and provide a link to your site?
    Thanks!

    Is it dependent on Text?

    Yes, backgrounds have nothing to do with the size of a container they are simply just a background for it. Your size is always going to be based on what you have put in the container or something you set fixed with css.

    Your page is not visible without a login so I can’t see what you are working with but likely you just need to set a min-height in your page builder row or widget using this in the css area in page builder for each item you want to have a fixed height.
    min-height:200px;

    Hey,
    Use the widget area and add all the items you want into it, in the order you want. Then post a link and we can help with the css.

    You could create a page builder row with a button widget and place it at the beginning of your page content. Unfortunately, you would have to create this for each page as Virtue does not have a sitewide option for a widget area below the header.

    In reply to: AMP support on themes

    #159349

    Hi Ben,

    In order to have a better competitive advantage vs available AMP plugins, I think you’d need to do better in these areas:

    1. style (the look) – AMP landing pages are very basic at the moment (mainly because every theme is coded differently and the AMP plugin needs to work for all of them. Soo it stripes everything to the bare bone). Your advantage would be knowing your own code and therefore knowing what can be stripped and what is already AMP compliant = producing a much nicer landing page

    2. theme integration =
    – Theme Settings AMP on / off
    – including options like auto redirect mobile, colour settings, maybe a separate mobile AMP homepage (like you have at the moment without the AMP)
    – on page setting – AMP on / off (Is this an AMP page? setting)

    3. a couple of useful widgets – current AMP pages are basically just text and some images. Hard to style if you don’t want to study AMP allowed code and implement it. You could prepare a few useful widgets (site origin or your own) for key elements – images, text styling, buttons / highlights.

    4. another issue with AMP is lack of contact forms – so a kadence contact form (or generic form, even better CF7 integration) that’s AMP compatible would bring new subscribers for sure (your price is mmuch better than current AMP CF7 integration for example). Key here would be marketing and finding those interested of course.

    My main frustration with AMP plugins at the moment is that you can’t really style / align etc. anything much without reading about and implementing AMP code yourself. AMP has great potential because of it’s speed, but on the other hand, it puts visitors off as the standard style is ugly and it’s hard to achieve something nicer.

    The sooner you start the stronger your unique selling point & the bigger the market 🙂

    Happy to discuss this in more detail over email if you prefer, or we can keep it here.

    thanks
    Lukas

    Hi,

    I would like to add a search box to my site. I have managed to add a widget area in the topbar on my staging site and have added the woocommerce product search widget to that. As it stands, the widget (search box) is placed on the left hand side of the topbar, above the logo.

    Is it possible to use CSS to place the search bar on the right hand side of the screen, to the left hand side of the cart please?

    Hello Ben,

    1. You are right. The table I added to show the social media icons was the issue. Now I need to find a better way to add social media icons as well as the email icon in that footer area and keep them horizontal and centered even on a mobile device. I know there is an Ascend Social Media widget but it doesn’t have the email icon in it. I’m trying to get the footer to look like this site http://www.christianothstudio.com/

    2. Kevin, the css you provided does enable me to slow down the transition which is great but how can I totally eliminate the transition (the zoom, the title moving up)?

    Thank you.

    Hey Angelo,

    Looks like you added the orange menu to your topbar widget area in Appearance> Widgets. You can disable it there, or go to Theme Options> Topbar Settings, and set “Enable widget area in right of Topbar?” to OFF.

    Let me know if that works for you.

    1. Try re-enabling the header widget area, then add this css:

    @media (min-width: 992px) {
    .col-md-4.clearfix.kad-header-left {
        width: 75%;
    }
    .col-md-8.kad-header-widget {
        width: 25%;
    }
    }

    4. You can use css to change the font and color, but there isn’t a way to change the tag to h2 without editing the theme.

    1. Do you mean in your header? You can enable the header widget area from Theme Options > Main Settings > Logo Options. Then you can add a social links widget from Appearance > Widgets.

    2.

    div#pg-12-1 h2 {
        text-align: center !important;
    }

    3.

    .home .panel-grid-cell .widget-title {
        text-align: center;
    }

    4.

    .testimonialbox {
        font-size: 22px;
        line-height: 25px;
        font-family: sans-serif;
    }

    Hope that’s helpful!

    Hannah
