In reply to: Would update to premium break parts of our site?
Hey Lindsay,
The premium version has a header widget area which would make adding text to your header pretty simple. Check out the free to premium section of this tutorial: https://www.kadencewp.com/installing-virtue-premium/

In forum: Ascend Theme1) Yep. That did the trick. I actually was using Visual Editor in the other rows. Incidentally, there was a conflict showing up between Visual Editor and the SiteOrigin plugin bundle in the site’s main widget areas, but I’m not seeing that error now. All is well.
Thanks again, Kevin!

Hello Lauriane,
1. Can you link to these on the demo site so that I can be sure of the social buttons that you’re referring to? Likely, they are setup with Kadence Simple share, which is a premium plugin available to Kadence Members:
https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-simple-share/2. The latest posts at the bottom of that home page are configured via shortcode added to a text widget within page builder. If you don’t know about page builder, here is a tutorial that I suggest taking a look at:
https://www.kadencewp.com/using-page-builder/For more information regarding shortcodes, take a look here:
http://docs.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium/shortcodes/One thing that you may find helpful would be to setup a site using our importer plugin and have an entire demo site built for you so you can take a look at how things are configured in the admin area. You can access the importer by going to Appearance> Getting Started. I would not recommend doing this to a site that you’ve already began setting up though. This works best for a fresh install.
Hopefully this is helpful! Let me know if you need any more assistance with this.

Fiddly stuff:
1) *Login to see link We have too much space between the bottom of the slider (Revolution) and the first line of text (H1). We’re using SiteOrigin framework and widgets on this page. I can’t find anything in the SiteOrigin rows or widgets to remove in between these two areas.
2) *Login to see link On this page there is not enough space between the header bar and the first text (H1). This page is using SiteOrigin as well. You can see the proper amount of space that’s present on a page that does NOT use SiteOrigin here: *Login to see link
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Header widget below menu
Hello,
Is there a way to have the header widget area to sit below the menu – as seen here: *Login to see link
Site is *Login to see link
Thanks,
David.In forum: Ascend ThemeHi Milosz,
Are you using a separate plugin to create your subscriber form? You should be able to add it through a widget in which case you can use the home widget area. You can enable that from Theme Options > Home Layout and then add the subscriber form from Appearance > Widgets.
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Ascend ThemeUsing the Ascend Split Content Widget, I find that if I have the image on the left, it leaves a huge margin between the left edge of the image and the left edge of the content area. The whole image and content seems to float to the right. If I align the image on the right (which I don’t want to do) it all aligns better on the left, but it leaves too much space on the right. Assuming I have not changed this by the time you see it, here’s what it looks like at the moment: *Login to see link
I’ve also got a “read more” plugin working in there, but this issue remains with or without it.
How can I get this to sit better on the page?

August 25, 2017 at 7:22 pm #156468In your home page content, copy all the html, shortcodes that currently hold the logo and slider.
Go to appearance > widgets. Add a text widget into the home widget area and paste all that you copied into it.Go to the theme options > home layout and enabled the home widget area at the top of the enabled list.

August 25, 2017 at 6:56 pm #156464If you’re wanting a menu there you would not add through the widget area but instead through the appearance > menus page. You would add a menu to the right side of the header.

I have my header setup as “MENU – LOGO – MENU AND EXTRAS”
I have my main menu setup just fine, I have my logo setup just fine but on the “MENU AND EXTRAS” section, I have the widget area, search and second widget area checked.
On the first widget area, I’m trying to add a menu and it will not appear, anything else I add to the first widget area appears just fine. The search is good and in the second widget area I have the social icons and those work just fine too. Is there any reason why my menu will not show up in the first widget area?In forum: Ascend ThemeHi there! I am using sendowl as my ecommerce platform and have managed to create an icon to be my ‘view cart’ in the Header Extras Widget Area. It is working just fine on the computer but now I need it working on mobile too. How can I go about it? Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Homepage Layout
Hello Team Kadence!
I have another oddball question …
In the theme options, on the Homepage Layout, is there a way to add a sort order for the mobile layout? For example, I have the Image Menu, Latest Blog Posts, Home Widget Area, and Page Content enabled (in that order) but for mobile I would like to have Latest Posts, Page Content, Home Widget Area, and Image Menu (I don’t know why the college wants to do this but I’ve been tasked with working out a solution). Before I get too far in customizing something, I didn’t know if there was a filter or sort order that could be applied?
Thank you!!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: menu background color
Can anyone tell me how to change the background color on my secondary menu? My website is onthemarkhomeinspection.com. It defaulted to a aqua green (same color as the “Themes” in ‘Kadence Themes’ logo). I would like it to be either a standard grey or sharp red. I see that I can change the Topbar color via Appearance> Customize> Advanced Styling, but not the Secondary Menu.
While we’re at it, is there any way to add a custom widget to both the left and right area’s? In Theme Options> Topbar Settings, it appears that we are only given the option to pick either the Left or Right side.
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Add text to search in primary menu
I guess I didn’t realize that when I enabled the widget area that the Primary Menu would stay intact, although it dropped to the next line. I’ve added some CSS to make the logo portion of the header as narrow as it can comfortably be. Ideally here’s what I’d like to do with the rest of the header.
I’d like to have everything on one line, even if it means making the Search Widget and/or Menu font a bit smaller.
I’d like to have the logo, then the menu items, then finally the search widget.
I like the way my line of text sits on top of the search box, so I’d like to maintain that look.
Any or all of this possible with Custom CSS?
As always, thanks so much in any case, you guys are rock stars.
Mike
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Add text to search in primary menu
Hi Mike,
You can enable the Header Widget Area and add a text widget with “WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO RENT?” and a search widget. You can enable the widget area from Theme Options > Main Settings and add content from Appearance > Widgets. Would that work for you? If you’d like we can help with css to get it styled as you want.Hannah

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: sidbar area first on mobile
Hi Michal,
There isn’t a built in option for this. One workaround would be to add a widget area to the top of your page using page builder, then just use css to hide it on desktop and display it on mobile. Then visa versa for your sidebar. Let me know if that’s something that would work for you.Hannah
