In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Sidebar issues
Hi,
I’m trying to add a product filter widget into the sidebar on my shop page only. However I can only get the widget to show in the ‘header’ and ‘above footer widget area’ locations. I can force it into the sidebar if I change the default widget area to ‘above footer area’ in the shop archive settings in theme options. This then creates an issue where I have this widget showing in two locations; the sidebar and above the footer.Couple of questions…
1. Can someone let me know why I can’t get the widget to show in the sidebar area? It doesn’t seem to matter which widget I choose, the issue isn’t isolated to my product filter. I’ve tried some random widgets and they are also not showing in the sidebar.
2. I am happy to have the widget showing in both the sidebar and above footer area, but I only want this in the shop page. Is it possible to disable the above footer widget area on all other pages apart from the shop?
I can supply screenshots if that makes it easier. Website is currently being developed at http://www.mmphotos.co.uk if you want to visit the site.
Thanks in advance.
MattIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Widget Title Font Size
Hi,
I have searched the forum and couldn’t see an answer to this.
I use 3 widgets in the footer area of my site. The titles of the widgets are too large.
Is there some CSS to reduce the font sizes of the titles please?
Also, I have a footer menu, very similar to yours below. How can I reduce font size of the menu categories please? Thanks again,
Paul
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Homepage – Reduce Spacing
Hi Team,
my websites homepage consist of, top-down, a header, the kadence-pro carousel, a featured products carousel, a home widget area, and then an icon menu with links to product categories.
The purpose of the home widget area is to set the header for the product categories by means of the Custom HTML widget embedded in the home widget area.
My problem is the amount of space between the promoted products and the categories header below, and between the categories header and the categories below.
Is it possible to reduce this space?
The website is justbags.co.nzThank you in advance

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: KT extra gallery settings not showing
The issue is that you renamed the theme folder, which prevented the theme from updating. Widgets and menus are saved on a theme folder basis, and when the label of the folder is changed from default, it will conflict with your updates and some widgets/menus will need to be reassigned.
Does that make sense?
I’ve gone ahead and added your home widget area Layout Builder back, and your home page is displaying as it was with the old version of the theme.
Let me know if you need any further assistance with this.

I am confused? Are you wanting just a border on one side? It seems you added a border around each widget area?
Meaning 2px anywhere that a widget touches another…

Couldn’t edit, I apologize for double post, but I have an additional question as well.
Some of my layout I’ve created using a home page. I can easily change titles from H3 to H2.
Some other elements I’ve added through home widget area, but still I can change titles from H3 to H2.
What about things I’ve enabled through home layout in theme options. Is there a way to have portofilo grid and recent articles in H2?Thanks,
RichardIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: double vertical scrollbar
Hi Team,
I’m using the virtue premium theme in combination with woocommerce.
I have a product carousel on the front page, using the home widget area.
In the widget I have the following code using the virtue shortcode ‘carousel’:[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
Promotions
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
[carousel type=featured-products columns=6 items=12 speed=9000 scroll=1]
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
Women’s Bags
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
[carousel type=cat-products columns=6 items=12 speed=9000 scroll=1 cat=women]
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
Men’s Bags
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
[carousel type=cat-products columns=6 items=12 speed=9000 scroll=1 cat=men]
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
Travel Bags
[hr color=”#725231″ style=”line” size=”1px”]
This code is causing the homepage on loading to quickly shift left to right due to a temporary 2nd vertical scrollbar.
Any idea how this can be fixed?
Removing the widget from the homepage stabilizes the display.

Hi, Ben.
I hope you’ve had a great time!
The solution above is the one they’ve suggested. I do have some issues with string translations since the latest update, but it seems like I am not the only one.
Today I tried to translate my image menu item. The way I do it, I manually paste the iconmenu shortcode into text editor and then translate it through the string translation. It worked before and It was a quick way to do it, because I’ve had my image menu in the home widget area. But today, after translating the string everytime I have reloaded the English page I ended up with an untranslated image menu item and the new string being created while the translated string was being ignored. I ended up with a lot of strings of the same item. I found a fix for it, but it was strange. Never had issues with my translations before.
Anyway. Website is live and running and all seems to be in order, which makes me happy. In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Sitewide Footer Call to Action in single pages
If you only want this on three pages I would advise just manually adding them to each page.
That has a background image, which makes it sitewideNot sure what you mean by that. Are you referring to the banner that says “Responsive Design. Powerful Options”? That is created using page builder. Check out the written portion of this tutorial: https://www.kadencewp.com/using-page-builder/
You can use page builder on your home page by adding the layout builder widget to your home widget area, or through your home page content area if your homepage is set as a static page.Hannah
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Displaying pages as a 'Portfolio Grid'
Hi Andrew,
You can use a shortcode to display only portfolio types. Like this:[portfolio_types]Just paste that into a text widget within your home widget area.
You can see a full list of shortcodes here: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle-premium/shortcodes/
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Home Page widget not displaying gallery
Hello Laurent,
One option to add a gallery to your home page that would require no coding would be to go to Theme Options> Home Layout, and enable the “Home Widget Area.”
Then, you could add a gallery widget to the Home Widget Area in Appearance> Widgets.
You could also add the gallery to the home page content by going to the edit screen for your home page and adding the gallery via shortcode or widget.
You would also need to make sure that Home Content is enabled in Theme Options> Home Layout.Does either of these options sound like it would work for you?

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I’d like to display a gallery in the “home” widget section; I chose the right option in the theme layout, and placed a “virtue gallery” widget in the widgets.php, in the right place.. Yet, only the title will show up on the site: *Login to see link
Any idea how to debug that?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: feature staff on home page
Hey Jessica,
An easy way to add a staff grid to your home page would be through the use of the use shortcode.
Using page builder, you would simply add visual editor widget to the area that you’d like the staff posts to display. Then, within the widget, you’ll want to add a shortcode like this one:
[staff_posts orderby="date" items="4" filter="false" link="true" columns="4" height="200"]Feel free to adjust the shortcode as much as you like. here is more on shortcodes in the theme:
http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/Also, realize that when you add to the page content for your home page, you control where this appears by going into Theme Options> Home Layout, and moving “Page Content” to the desired part of the active column.
You could also add this to your home widget area by going to Appearance> Widgets, and adding the Visual Editor widget to the Home Widget Area.
Let me know if this works for you!

July 24, 2017 at 8:53 am #1527351. In your theme options, > topbar settings enable the top bar widget area.
go to appearance > widgets add a text widget to your topbar widget area and add your text there.
2. You can add a menu below your logo by going to appearance > menus and assigning a menu to the primary menu location.
3. You can go to appearance > menus and assign a menu to the footer menu location.
Check out this about menus: https://www.kadencewp.com/building-displaying-menus/
