Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
There is no option for the Google Map API on Ascend’s theme options. If you’re using the Ascend Google Maps Widget, you don’t need to input a Google Maps API key. If you’re using a plugin for the map that requires an API, then the plugin should have its own input area for your API code. This topic is similar to this one – https://www.kadencewp.com/support-forums/topic/google-maps-api-2/.
Hope this helps.

KarlaIn forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Placement of Topbar Menu
I’ve asked for the Topbar Menu to be on the left because I need the widget area on the right, but truth be told I want this menu in the center so it lines up over the Primary menu that I have strategically placed. HERE’S the site in question and here’s the CSS I already have in place to get this header looking like it does:
.kt-topbar-right {
width: 50%;
}
.kt-topbar-left {
width: 50%;
align: right;
}
form.search-form input[type=search].search-field {
box-shadow: none;
background-color: transparent;
}
#topbar input.search-field, #topbar form.search-form .search-submit {
color:white;
}
#topbar input.search-field::-webkit-input-placeholder{
color: white;
}
#topbar input.search-field::-moz-placeholder {
color: white;
}
#topbar input.search-field:-ms-input-placeholder {
color: white;
}As always, thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Hey,
You can use the topbar widget area. That can be enabled from Theme Options > Topbar Settings then you can add widgets from Appearance > Widgets. This post explains making the topbar sticky: https://www.kadencewp.com/knowledge-base/sticky-topbar-in-virtue/
Hope that’s helpful!Best,

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for your feedback! We really appreciate it and I’ll talk with the developer about his plans for the header builder. For now, you can add two HTML elements and then a widget area to your header. Then add a text widget to the widget area and you can paste HTML there. Would this work for you?Kindly,
HannahIn forum: Kadence ThemeHi Inga,
I apologize in advance if I’m misunderstanding. I think I’m getting confused by the language being used. By off canvas sidebar do you mean the off canvas area for the tablet/mobile header? Or something else? Are you wanting the same contents in your toggle widget area in your desktop header as the off canvas area in the mobile header? Is that correct? As it is set up right now in the customizer you have totally different contents enabled. Sorry, could you explain once more what the exact issue is? I’m sorry again for not understanding!Kindly,
HannahIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Header widget area for mobile
Hi Inga,
Unfortunately, there isn’t a widget area for the mobile view. If you would like to make a feature request for this you can do so here: https://www.kadencewp.com/roadmap-blocks/feature-requests/
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn forum: Kadence ThemeDecember 2, 2020 at 12:47 pm #261221If you dont mind I’d like to jump in on this. I think I achieved something similar using some custom css. My goal was to create a mega menu that was the same on desktop, tablet, and mobile. I used the Toggle widget area on desktop and trigger on tablet/mobile. I used the same menu for both and used custom css to achieve the look I wanted with font size, colors, spacing, etc. Hope this helps!
In forum: Kadence ThemeDecember 1, 2020 at 11:46 am #261161Hi Ben,
C) this is easy. Link to both design options under „Breadcrumb“ :).
A) I tried to explain the current header builder to my novice girl friend. She was very confused :-D. Why not let the header builder look equal on desktop and tablet/ mobile. You don‘t have to remove the „second“ widget canvas area for desktop (this one was really hard to understand for her) because it can be used too. Give the off canvas area and the trigger element responsive options and it would very easy to understand? Imho…
In forum: Kadence ThemeDecember 1, 2020 at 5:47 am #261129+ Possible solution:
Tablet/ Mobile: “Header Off Canvas” lacking some options which the element “Toggle Widget Area” -> “Widget items” -> “Add widget items” has, like:
Popup Area Settings: Popup Content Max Width is missing for example.It’s very confusing and unintuitiv ;)…
December 1, 2020 at 5:35 am #261127Hi there,
I know I can use custom css or some workarounds with elements for all this but I think that would be good options for all.
A) I want to have the same Toggle-Menu styling on desktop which I have for tablet/ mobile:
1. Approach:
– Using “Toggle Widget Area” on Desktop and add a Navigation widget.
-> the line height is overwritten.
And it’s a bit limited: No active menu color etc.2. Approach:
– Header -> Design -> “Screen size to switch to mobile header”
-> I want to set it to 4000px or something even higher to display the mobile header all the time. But the field is limited to 2000px. My screen is bigger :).Possible Solution:
– Why not adding same “Off Canvas” area and a trigger element to Desktop Header like in tablet/ mobile view? And give the “Off canvas area” responsive options for Desktop, tablet and mobile. This would cover my point “B) close toggle” also.
– Add the trigger element to desktop view. Give the trigger element responsive options for Desktop, tablet and mobile. This would improve the trigger element also. Because at the moment you can not use different text size etc for tablet and mobile.This would be much more user friendly than using the “Toggle widget area” element. There would be no need to remove that element. So Kadence Users have both options… and 2 independent off canvas areas ;)…
B) Close toggle:
There is no option for close toggle size (Desktop: “Toggle Widget Area”; Mobile: “Trigger”). Only changing the color is possible. But it is very small and should be adjustable.C) Breadcrumbs:
It’s a bit complicated to find the design options for breadcrumbs.
“General -> Breadcrumbs” -> Please add a “Design” link or something similar to: “Page Layout” because there you can find colors etc. for breadcrumbs.What do you think :)?
Have a great day,
TobiasIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Vertical Menu
Hi Debo,
Thanks for reaching out! Hope you enjoyed your weekend.
You can create a vertical menu by navigating to Customize > Header and adding the Toggle Widget Area to your header. Then click the settings icon and click Add Widget Items. Then you can select a Navigation widget.
Hope this is helpful! Let me know if you would like further clarification.Regards,
HannahIn forum: Kadence ThemeTopic: Header toggle widget area
Hello,
I have strange problem with Header toggle widget area (as a hamburger menu) for desktop. I use it as a additional menu with product categories. Hamburger menu icon looks as expected but the moment I close additional off canvas menu a button apears under hamburger menu. It is visible untill I click somewhere on my site, then button dispears. What am I doing wrong? I’ve checked all the options and cannot find solution.
How can I fix this? Please find printscreen attached.
Kind Regards,
IngaIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Desktop, Mobile hamburger menu question
So these settings would fall on the widget you’re using. Unfortunately, the navigation menu widget just doesn’t have tons of options. The line-height and font settings/colors can be set from the toggle widget area settings. I would be happy to help with CSS if there are other styling effects you’re wanting. Just let me know!

HannahIn forum: Membership ForumsHi guys
I asked sometime ago about adding a widget to the footerbase div and you recommended the Widgets on Pages plugin:

In forum: Kadence ThemeHi,
Please help.
My questions:
1. How to screen center the image logo (Laptop only. Mobile NO changes) in primary menu while keeping the hamburger menu left as it is?
2. How to increase the height of the primary menu via css?I guess the image is in the primary menu’s widget area.
Thank you very much

There isn’t a built-in function for this. You could use a plugin like the following to add flags:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/svg-flags-lite/
Then you could add them into your topbar widget area.
Let me know if this doesn’t work for you!Best,
HannahIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Complex footer – best approach
This is sorted now, Hannah.
In order to use the nav menu widget, it is necessary for that row to be defined as a footer widget area.
So I need the “Four Column” layout for the Footer widget.
But this means anything below that row needs to be defined in “Misc Settings > Footer Copyright Text”
It also means that the “reusable blocks extended” can only be added as a shortcode in “Footer > Sitewide Footer Shortcode”
So the final setup is:***************************************************************** * "Reusable blocks extended" containing 2 rows set to fullwidth * * With appropriate image/transparent backgrounds. * * Added as "Sitewide Footer Shortcode" * * ------------------------------------------------------------- * * Footer widget set to "4 columns" containing 4 widgets * * ------------------------------------------------------------- * * Footer Copyright text set to 2 columns in html. * *****************************************************************Thanks for your help,
Phil.In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Complex footer – best approach
Gotcha. OK I suggest using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/reusable-blocks-extended/
It allows you to build reusable blocks and add them to a widget area via shortcode. So you can create a row layout block with multiple rows and columns, then add them to a footer widget area. Just enable the fourth or fifth footer widget area from Theme Options > Footer then add the widget to footer column 1 from Appearance > Widgets.
Let me know if this works for you or if I can help further!Best,
HannahIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Home widget area columns
October 24, 2020 at 7:02 am #259431Hi,
I resolved it by using the “HTML” widget in the home widget area. And adding the image as html link.
Do you have a reason why using the “Image” widget , the area was set in three columns, but when using HTML, only one.
Thanks! Anu
