In reply to: Complex footer – best approach
Hey Phil,
Which editor are you using? If page builder by siteorigin you can add a layout builder block to your footer and create your desired layout that way. https://siteorigin.com/page-builder/documentation/building-a-page/#:~:text=Using%20the%20Layout%20Widget,footers%20and%20other%20widgetized%20areas.
Let me know if you would like a different approach and we can try to create other workarounds.Best,
HannahIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Sidebar style header on desktop
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Having a sidebar menu is not yet available in the Kadence theme. On the other hand, you can use a Toggle Widget Area item for the desktop header and add a Navigation Menu widget to make an off-canvas nav on desktop. Kindly refer to this page for more information regarding this.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Home widget area columns
October 21, 2020 at 10:01 am #259209Hi,
I am trying to use Home widget area to add an image to my home page. It is now in three columns and I would like it to be just one. So that that image would be sitewide. Is that possible. My site is cool-x.fi. Or maybe some other way to get an image to home page?

In forum: Kadence ThemeHi,
I have a footer are on a site using Top Row and Bottom Row. It’s using the Footer Menu and various Navigation Menu Widgets and HTML widgets. The footer widget is indenting and some of the other widgets I need to apply some styling to. Can you please advise if there is any way to do this without custom CSS or how I should target the three areas to apply the custom CSS?
Thanks
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Header Extras widget area
Hello Support team!
Here is my website, where I’m using the Header style with logo in the middle, Extra widgets on left and right side, and menu line under it (see attached screenshot).
My question is, how can I put some info in the Left side Extra widget? If I enable the second widget area, that info also goes to the right side Extra widget, not to the left one.
Thanks for your answer,
BR,

Hi Nicola,
Are you using the block editor? If so, you can use the modal block from Kadence Blocks: https://www.kadenceblocks.com/modal-block/
Or, if not, you can use the modal shortcode:[kad_modal btntitle="Button Title" btncolor="#ffffff" btnbackground="#333333" title="Modal Title" btncolor="#ffffff" btnbackground="#333333"]<p>Modal Content</p>[/kad_modal]
You can paste that into a text widget or into any content area.
Would either of these options work for you?Hannah
In forum: Ascend ThemeHello Timothy,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I’ll send a note regarding the alignment options for the Topbar Widget Area to see if an option to make it center can be added on future updates. For now, kindly use this custom CSS to make your Topbar button center:
.kt-topbar-left { width: 100%; justify-content: center; }Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Off-canvas mobile menu options
October 15, 2020 at 9:38 am #258864Hi!
Off-canvas widget area works only for the desktop – so if you try to add widgets – they will show up in the desktop view, but not in mobile. For mobile off-canvas you need to use/create yor own html widgets (two are available) and add them in mobile, and to create another mobile menu.
Or you may add the whole off-canvas content for both mobile and desktop with Elementor by creating it and then hook it / add it as Element. In Elements you shold find the hook named something like “before / after off-canvas” and that’s it.
I’m coming from Astra, and I’ve tried both ways to add content in off-canvas mobile, and finally I devided not to use Elementor, because it slowed down the site (same as with Astra).
I hope that helps.

October 14, 2020 at 10:47 pm #258824Hey,
2. That is not for the mobile offcanvas. You can use that by adding the toggle widget area to your header.3. The “widget area” element is for the desktop header, not the mobile header, there is no option to add a widget area into the mobile offcanvas.
If you want to add something in there outside of the header builder options then you would need to use an element and hook into the mobile off canvas area.

In forum: Kadence ThemeOctober 14, 2020 at 12:25 pm #258767Hi,
I’m in the learning curve for Kadence Theme. I mainly come from OceanWP so i might search for similar options.
So I’m setting up the off-canvas mobile menu and i have some questions :
1- I can’t find any option to change the black background in the customizer.
2- In Appearance > widgets there is a “header off-canvas” area but even if i add something in there, it doesn’t show up in the off-canvas mobile menu. What’s the use of it ?
3- As the module “widget area” in the header builder doesn’t show up either in the off-canvas zone, i don’t know how to add a custom thing in there except the classic modules (html1, …)
4- OceanWP has the option to add an elementor template in the off-canvas menu. Can we do that in Kadence ?Thanks for the help !

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Custom Sidebar in Kadence Pro
Hello Peter,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
We are looking into making a sidebar addon for pro that will allow users to create more widget areas, but for now, you can make use of a plugin like Lightweight Sidebar Manager to create another sidebar for use within the theme.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
Give this a shot in your Additional CSS area in your customizer:
} .siteorigin-panels-stretch.kt-panel-row-stretch.panel-widget-style.panel-row-style.panel-row-style-for-107-0 { border-top: 2px solid !important; border-image-slice: 1 !important; border-image-source: linear-gradient(90deg, rgba(172,99,130,1) 0%, rgba(149,74,135,1) 53%, rgba(126,49,146,1) 100%) !important; }Let me know if that doesn’t work out.
Thanks!

Hi Hannah,
Allright will use the topbar then.
1. But when using the topbar and also the widget area in the topbar the menu switches to two rows or something..
Check image below:

When increasing the topbar height to 40px the menu goes normal again, but I want it at 30 px..
2. Also on mobile the widget text is not totally visible.
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: How can i create these footer
September 21, 2020 at 1:07 pm #257277I’m going to suggest you set the normal color not through css but in your footer settings for the row, you can set the link color there.
Then you can add this css for the sub menus:
#colophon .site-footer-row .widget-area .sub-menu a { color: var(--global-palette6) !important; }Ben
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: How can i create these footer
September 18, 2020 at 7:15 pm #257198Thank you so much for the css
I removed the margin:auto so that it follows alignment that i set in footer customizer
I added the !important in this css so that it take effect.
.widget-area a:not(.button) {
color: var(–global-palette1) !important;
}However what i want is just the submenu not the whole link
For example :
Aqua Culture : –global-pallete3
sub menu Our Work : –global-pallete6would you please help to provide the css selector for footer submenu items.
Thank you
JoieIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: How can i create these footer
Try adding this css:
aside.footer-widget-area.widget-area.site-footer-focus-item.footer-widget1.content-align-left.content-tablet-align-left.content-mobile-align-left.content-valign-top.content-tablet-valign-top.content-mobile-valign-top, aside.footer-widget-area.widget-area.site-footer-focus-item.footer-widget2.content-align-left.content-tablet-align-left.content-mobile-align-left.content-valign-top.content-tablet-valign-top.content-mobile-valign-top, aside.footer-widget-area.widget-area.site-footer-focus-item.footer-widget3.content-align-left.content-tablet-align-left.content-mobile-align-left.content-valign-top.content-tablet-valign-top.content-mobile-valign-top, aside.footer-widget-area.widget-area.site-footer-focus-item.footer-widget4.content-align-left.content-tablet-align-left.content-mobile-align-left.content-valign-top.content-tablet-valign-top.content-mobile-valign-top, aside.footer-widget-area.widget-area.site-footer-focus-item.footer-widget5.content-align-left.content-tablet-align-left.content-mobile-align-left.content-valign-top.content-tablet-valign-top.content-mobile-valign-top, aside.footer-widget-area.widget-area.site-footer-focus-item.footer-widget6.content-align-left.content-tablet-align-left.content-mobile-align-left.content-valign-top.content-tablet-valign-top.content-mobile-valign-top { width: 50%; margin: auto; }Is that more what you’re after?
You can use this css to adjust your footer menu color:
.widget-area a:not(.button) { color: var(--global-palette6); }Hope that helps!
HannahIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Space between widgets on the sidebar
Hey Jacqueline,
I would recommend leaving your sidebar background color transparent from Customize > General > Sidebar, then add this to your custom css:.primary-sidebar.widget-area .widget { background: #e9f0f0; padding: 10px; }Hope that works for you!
Best,
Hannah -
