Advanced Gallery captions always displayed on iOS

Hello,
I’m attempting to hide captions on an advanced gallery but on iOS (and on Chrome on my smaller laptop), the captions are shown no matter what I do. If I ‘show’ captions, the caption text picks up the color and background styling I choose but not the visibility or location setting. It’s always underneath.
I troubleshooted by removing all my own CSS. Recreated issue on desktop Safari and mobile
