Ajax content in modal popup

Hello,
I use the modal popup which is included inside the virtue theme.
I have copied the code generated when using the shortcode and pasted into a function, so that I can open the modal from some elements of my theme.
The question is that I would like to be able to load dynamically the content (or a div) of another page, post or archive, dynamically, without having to copy this into the current page.
Do you have any clue to do that ?
