Are there different display options for the “latest post display” on homepage?

Hi there,
We love how customisable the Virtue theme is, and are planning on rolling it out across some of our small blogs. However I was just wondering if there were different display options for the “latest post display” on the homepage other than excerpt or full post, for example text only?
I’ve tried changing the setting for “Blog Post Summary Default” in “Page/Post Settings” but this must be for something else as it doesn’t seem to have any effect 🙂
