background color on pages

I’m back sort of… Still rebuilding the site.
Is there a way to make the background color white to match the text, but allow an image to fill in the rest. On almost all “regular” pages, posts, and testimonials, the text is white and the background image I have extends beyond the edge of the page to fill out the screen. But with the home page and all individual product pages, the background image bleeds through the text and makes it difficult to read. Attached are some screenshots to show what I mean.
