Blurry portfolio images

Hi folks,
I have got a problem on a site i’m currently working on. On the home page, I want to display portfolio items using a shortcode. Editing this section with the home layout builder is not an option since there will be more content under it in other rows.

The images are upscaled and really blurry. Also i want to remove the margin between the items, this section needs the same look as the following page.
