Captions on Portfolio Item Page

Is there a way to display captions on the images on a Portfolio Item page? They come up in the lightbox but I would like them to appear on mouseover if possible. Having them static on the images would also be OK, but the mouseover is preferred. I am using the Image Grid option as I like the look of that better than what displays using a Gallery.
