Carousel Shortcode Length

Hi,
I am using the Carousel Shortcode to display testimonials. I have it set up exactly how I need it but I want to show the full testimonial not just an excerpt. How can I change that or how do I make the exerpt length longer? I’ve tried adding code into the functions but I can’t get it right. I’ve tried making the blog excerpt longer in the theme options but that didn’t work.
