Carrousel doesn't resize images and blank pages

Hi,
We have bought Virtue premium to use it for our blog. I have tested it on an online copy of the blog without much problems. When I tried to get to work on our real blog, several things went wrong. The first one is that the carrousel at the top of the main page doesn’t resize the images anymore. I want it to show the most recent posts but the images it uses ar the original ones whatever their size, when it should crop it to follow the size I want (1140*300).

A second problem is that it tends to produce blank pages when it should show some archive pages. It seems to be linked to some posts in particular, because I “solved” it for an author when I deleted and recreated a post.
