Change Homepage

Hi, I’m using a plugin for the splash page. However, I want the user to be redirected from the splash page to the home page which will have the portfolio category grid but its not showing on the homepage. I understand the home page is a template and cannot be changed. I could redirect the users to the portfolio page instead, but when they click on the logo, they will see the homepage that I don’t want to use. How can I go about having the logo to be linked to the portfolio page instead? Or have the portfolio show on the home page. I tried using shortcode but they don’t look like the portfolio page does. Or some other ideas to make this more practical? Thanks!
