Column background color and parallax

Hello,
1) If I create two rows, each row with two columns, like this:
[columns] [span6] <p>add content here</p>[/span6][span6] <p>add content here</p>[/span6][/columns]
[columns] [span6] <p>add content here</p>[/span6][span6] <p>add content here</p>[/span6][/columns]
a) Is it possible to have a different background color for each column? I tried using Page Builder and Split Contant widget, but the resulting contant did not have assigned the background colors I set for it.
b) Is it possible to have zero space between the two rows?
In fact, this is possible with a table, but I’m afraid that the table is not ok for the mobile phones.
2) Is it possible to build a parallax like in your demo *Login to see link (“Want to see more?”) without using Page Builder?
