Hi Ben,
I have read through your other replies on the forums regarding this topic.
You say PageSpeed is just for analyzing and may not be ideal for every site. I agree.
However, I have tested the site on Pingdom and GTMetrix and my scores seem to be ‘okay’ but my page load times are still 5 seconds or so.
I did played around a lot with W3TC plugin and tried to defer/async the javascript to make load times faster. I did this by using the assistant inside W3TC and then also manually by looking at the scripts that GTMetrix brought up for deferring.
To accomplish this I have to enable minification but I think at that point alone the site/theme crashes and I get a 500 error code from the browser.
Is there anyway to get around this using the W3TC or something else? I want to increase the load time of the page. (I know there is a possibility that it is the server as well)
I was using Autoptimize to complement W3TC but for testing purposes I turned it off and went through the enable/disable, add one by one testing phase and that also didn’t yield any results.
Thanks again,
Best,
-Park
