Different Archive Page Layouts

Hi Guys,
First off, I would like to say I am loving the Kadence Theme. The speed of the WordPress backend has drastically improved using your theme and pro block. Keep up the great work.
OK here is the problem.
I am trying to get different categories to show up on different page layouts.
I have done the following.
1. Downloaded the Custom Post Type UI plugin
2. Added a new name for the category
3. Moved the posts into this new category.
4. Went into the menu section and added the category to the main menu.
5. Went into Kadence theme > Custom post types, and the post type is there with a Layout and Archive.
6. Went to design the layout but the content is not being pulled through to the layout, nothing is being shown on the page.
Where do you think I may be going wrong.
