Disable image crop for image slider in summary

Is there any way for me to stop the images crop when using the image slider in post summary. There is no crop when the blog summary page is in one column (as on the demo page seen here) but when using 2 or 3 columns the image (or the whole slider) is cropped to a new size.
I plan to use 2 columns and a lot of image sliders but my images do not look right when cropped.
