full width option is gone?

I want to make a full width portfolio page but I cannot get it done.
When I use ‘portfolio grid’ at page attributes it won’t work.
The strange thing is that also the ‘full width’ option at ‘page-attributes’ is missing. It simply is not in the list.
I tried updating the template but without result. What is going wrong?
