Getting header to adjust to background image size

Hello
my site is *Login to see link
and I am trying to get my background image to fit into my header.. I want the width to fit in 100% and the height to be dictated by the image width. Is this possible? furthermore, is it possible for this to be the image for the home page only? I tried it as a slider, but couldnt figure it out that way either.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
