Header size and padding

Hi there,
I’m a premium user, and I’ve been having problems figuring out how to modify the header size as well as its padding. You only allow it to go to 30 point in the Theme Options, however, I want it even smaller, considering that it is still huge even at 30 point (what gives?). Also, I don’t want to modify the parent theme, but rather the child theme, as to not mess with the parent. How would I go about doing this?
