home slider and portfolio for the homepage

Sorry to bother you guys again but I have a few questions. I am changing the look of the homepage based on feedbacks from the readers. My link is http://www.twopeasinthepantry.com
1. How do I add the Kadence slider to the homepage? We’ve made so many changes and added some custom CSS codes that when I tried to put on the kadence home slider, it doesn’t work and I’m not sure what I need to change in the settings. I am trying to get my page to look like this link: *Login to see link
2. Instead of the carousel at the bottom of the homepage, I’d like it to be static and shows about 8-12 most recent posts. Is that the portfolio options?
3. I do want to have the pagination back. How do I get that back?
4. After making changes to the above, is that going to affect the category pages’ appearance? Right now, I’m happy with how it looks. I don’t want the above changes to impact it.
