how to add menu to top bar?

I was working with the free version of virtue and created a lovely menu in the top bar.
Then I upgraded to Premium. The topbar menu disappeared and I cannot figure out how to re-create it.
All I can find is how to format the menu text… where did the option go for where to position the menu?
Update: I figured it out — it required installing plugins.
