HTTP ERROR 500 after update

Hi
I have updated my wordpress to the latest 5.0.2 then installed classic-editor as it was suggested, however when I updated Ascend Theme, I got an HTTP ERROR 500 error during updating. Since that even if I remove and reinstall ascned theme, the preview works fine, but when I want activate it I still got the HTTP ERROR 500 message.
Any suggestion?
Also I got few few custom css and header and footer settings, would be nice not to lose them, I kept the original ascend theme in a back up folder for the settings.
