Icon Box Shortcode Color and Alignment

Hi,
I have a couple questions about the iconbox shortcode option.
1. I am struggling to style my box with a separate color for each the icon and the text. On hover, I would like them both to be the same color.
2. I have styled my icon boxes with a min height in order to keep them a consistent size. I would like to vertically center the icon/text/content within the box, and I can’t make this happen.
I am building my site locally, so no link to share at this point. I am looking for general suggestions and wondering if anyone has had success with either of these issues.
