image confusion

Hi
I’m still getting a little confused about the best way of getting images at the top of the page that are individual to that page – I an do this by setting page title background image for each page – but is this the best way of doing it? I am liking the way my home page is looking (still work in progress ) but have a nagging feeling that there is a better way of doing it for all pages- I also notice that the image is not responsive (I have set to “cover).
I have set home slider to background image
