Image issue

On the product pages that have featured images on the left and then text and such on the right, when scrolling up, the text scrolls up and disappears under the header and menu areas but the image goes right over the top covering the logo image as it scrolls to the top of the page and disappears. It also hides the drop-down menu when sub-categories drop down on hover. So the featured images on all of my product pages all think they’re living in a top layer, to use a Photoshop example, when they actually should be in the second layer behind the first layer’s content. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong but it can’t be normal. Thanks for any help. I’m new to virtue.
