Image Won't Display in Blog Post

I can not figure out how to get the featured image to display on the blog summary. I set a featured image, but when I view the blog summary, the image does not appear. However, when I click on the blog to view the full post, the image appears.
The demo content displays the featured images just fine. However, I deleted the featured image from the post “An Example Post”, then re-set the exact same image as the featured image, and now that image is not appearing in the blog summary either.
Is there anything else I am supposed to do besides just set a featured image in order to get images to appear in the blog summary?
Any suggestions?
