Kadence free: Custom Content Max Width not working as expected

Just checking out Kadence (free) and I have a row containing a section, which contains a 2-column column.
I can set the Custom Content Max Width to 70%, and it appears correctly when editing, but the columns remain full-width in browsers.
Not sure what to look for as I’m not very familiar with Kadence, but since it’s working in the editor but not browsers I figure I’m missing something.
Any help appreciated!
