Lightbox Issues

I’ve enabled the lightbox and it’s working correctly for me with Image (Adv) block. However, I’m getting some unexpected results when I try to use it with the Gallery (Adv) block.
If I choose the Masonry or Grid gallery types, the lightbox works as expected. But with the other free options, clicking on a gallery image opens the image full-size in the browser window with no lightbox UI. Is this how it’s supposed to work? I would have thought it would open with the usual lightbox UI controls. Do the Carousel, Fluid Carousel, and Slider options not support the lightbox?
Also related to the lightbox, is it possible to open the featured image on a post or page in the lightbox and optionally display a caption?
